The Matrix is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed movies of all time. It is revered for a social commentary, which explores themes such as questioning reality, the nature of consciousness, the impact of technology on society, and critiques of capitalism. This has led to hundreds, possibly even thousands, of people to make breakdowns of this film on YouTube. Videos that claim to explore the deeper meaning and why the movie is so great. But while there are countless videos about The Matrix, there doesn’t seem to be one that reveals the hidden meaning of the movie.

Every video only seems to touch on the surface level meaning of questioning reality and breaking out of the literal Matrix. But none seem to know of the true hidden meaning that is rooted in esoteric teachings. There is a deeper meaning to why Neo is so comparable to Jesus, and it’s not what you think. There is a secret reason to why Neo is considered the chosen one, and why he ascends in the end of the movie. You must know all these things to truly understand why The Matrix revealed way too much that the average everyday person was never meant to understand.

By the end of this video, you will finally know what The Matrix is truly about. I promise you, you will never see this movie the same again. Hey guys, I hope all is well. Welcome back to the truth is where I drop new videos exposing the truth weekly. In today’s episode, we will be talking about the hidden meaning of The Matrix. Let’s get right into it. Chances are most of you who are watching this video have already seen The Matrix. It’s by far one of the most popular movies of the 90s, dropping in 1999 and becoming a pop culture phenomenon.

The Matrix is one of those movies that even if you haven’t seen it, you’ve seen it. As the movie became synonymous with its Matrix effect, which was one of the main gimmicks of the movie that ended up being overused by Hollywood and other forms of media. While all the hype around the movie at the time was mainly because of its special effects and futuristic ideas, eventually people started realizing that behind all those Matrix effects, and cool fight scenes laid a well crafted story with a hidden deep meaning. The only problem is, most people are confused about what that deep meaning is.

They believe that the movie is commenting on society being slaves to the system that runs on materialism. They believe the movie is telling people to resist the pursuit of a material life and instead strive for one full of love and happiness. But what if I told you that’s only barely touching the surface? And in reality, the movie is about the secret religion of Hollywood. I have done several videos now on the secret religion of Hollywood called Gnosticism. If you haven’t seen any of those videos later in this video, I will provide a very brief summary of what Gnosticism is.

But if you want a full breakdown make sure to watch this video about Gnosticism after this video. After spending the last two years researching Gnosticism, I have been seeing a lot of Hollywood movies through a different light. Once you know what the Gnostic story of creation is, you quickly realize that it plays as the basis for many movie plots. That is exactly what I discovered when I rewatched The Matrix. I noticed that the movie wasn’t the social commentary that people thought it was, but a religious propaganda film designed to secretly push the teachings of Hollywood’s hidden religion.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves now. Before we can jump into that, let’s first provide a quick recap of the movie for those who haven’t seen it for some reason. The Matrix follows Thomas Anderson, a programmer who secretly works as the hacker Neil. While Neil lives like an everyday citizen working at an office, for some reason he senses something is wrong with reality and searches for answers about a mysterious concept called The Matrix. Neil is eventually contacted by a woman named Trinity, another hacker who implies to know about The Matrix and tells him that he’s in danger.

Soon after being contacted by Trinity, government-like agents capture him and question him. Their leader, Agent Smith, tries to force Neil to help them find a man named Morpheus, but Neil refuses. Morpheus then shows up and helps Neil break free from Agent Smith. Then one of the most popular scenes of the movie takes place, the red pill blue pill scene. Morpheus offers Neil an important choice that would change his life in the fate of the world forever. He offers him the choice between two pills, the blue pill that would return him to his normal life like nothing ever happened, or the red pill where he can learn the truth about The Matrix and never see things the same again.

Neil chooses to take the red pill and out of nowhere wakes up in a slimy pod. The pill had woken him out of The Matrix. Since he’s never been out of The Matrix, he doesn’t know where he is or what’s going on. This is when Morpheus and his crew rescue Neil and bring him aboard of their ship. They start showing Neil the truth about his world and he discovers that humans are being harvested by machines and that they’re using them for their power supply to keep the machines powered. He is also told that the world he knew was all just a computer simulation called The Matrix.

People who live in The Matrix are completely unaware that their real bodies are imprisoned and are being used as a power supply. Neil is told that if he learns how to manipulate the code, he can bend the rules which would allow him to manipulate the environment and become a god in The Matrix. Eventually Morpheus tells Neil why he went through the trouble of saving him, telling him that he believes he is the one, a prophesied savior figure who can end the war between humans and machines. Morpheus sends Neil to meet a mysterious prophet-like figure called the Oracle, so that she may confirm that he is indeed the one the prophecy is expecting.

But when Neil visits the Oracle, she tells him he is not the one and that he would eventually have to choose whether he lives or Morpheus lives which ends up planting doubt in Neil’s mind. While this is going on, one of the crew members of part of Neil’s team starts hating the idea of real life and all the troubles that come with it. Because of this he secretly makes a deal with Agent Smith, betraying the team and planning their ambush. Agents attack the group inside The Matrix and capture Morpheus. At the same time, Cypher attacks the crew in the real world, killing several members before being stopped.

Because of this, Neil decides to re-enter The Matrix to rescue Morpheus, believing he is responsible for his capture. Trinity decides to join him and together, they both enter The Matrix to find them. They eventually find Morpheus, fighting Agent Smith’s goons to free him. This allows Morpheus and Trinity to escape back to the real world. But unfortunately for Neil, he ends up stuck fighting Agent Smith in The Matrix. While it looked like Neil was going to be able to stop Agent Smith, Agent Smith ends up getting the upper hand on Neil and he is gunned down and dies inside of The Matrix.

Those in the real world see this happen and watch as Neil’s body in the real world is unresponsive. They begin crying when out of nowhere Trinity tells Neil she loves him, which fulfills the oracle’s hidden prophecy and revives him. After Neil is resurrected, he becomes the one who is now able to control the simulation completely, allowing him to see The Matrix as pure code, granting him the power to fully manipulate reality inside The Matrix. He then effortlessly destroys Agent Smith once and for all, or at least for this movie. After this, Neil gets the attention of the machine forces that control The Matrix and promises to show humanity the truth to help them break free.

The film then ends with Neil flying into the sky, symbolizing his ascension beyond limitation. It’s not hard to see why The Matrix is loved by so many. The movie has a great story and is executed flawlessly. It has a strong surface level message that it’s actually hard to believe that Hollywood green lights such a movie. But when you realize what the movie is actually about, you will understand why it’s not only produced by Hollywood, but pushed so heavily by Hollywood. Like I mentioned earlier, the movie might seem like a wake up call to escape the materialistic Matrix, but what they’re actually referring to is the teachings of Gnosticism.

Now if you’re a fan of the movie, chances are you have likely heard of the concept that Neil is meant to represent Jesus Christ, as there are many comparisons made throughout the film. For example, Neil becomes the one and his powers are activated after fulfilling the Oracle’s prophecies. Just like Jesus Christ is seen as the Messiah, with his baptism symbolizing the start of his public ministry and was a prophetic affirmation of his identity. Neil is tasked with freeing humanity from The Matrix, while Jesus is tasked with freeing humanity from sin and death.

Neil promises to free humanity after he dies in his resurrected, and Jesus’ death and resurrection represents the promise he made to his disciples that through him, the world would be able to free themselves from death. There are literally endless examples that seem to compare Neil to Jesus Christ. For the first time, he’s still wrapped and looking around, and there’s Joey Pants, Pantiliano, and he’s there, and he’s just looking, and then that character, Cypher, is startled. Oh, you scared the bejesus out of me. Whoa, Neil, you scared the bejesus out of me.

Who betrays the group? Cypher. Cypher! Yes. He betrays? He’s Judas. Who? He’s Judas? Yeah, the bejesus was scared out. He doesn’t have Jesus in him. He doesn’t have Jesus in him. Okay. And everyone sort of decides that he’s the one. He’s the one. Right. When he’s like pulling Trinity up. Oh, yes. Yeah. He is the one. I told you he is the one. He is the one. Do you believe now Trinity? Let’s fast forward towards the end. It’s shot point blank by Smith. Yes. He drops. You know how many bullets he put in him? Oh, you don’t.

I don’t. I will tell you. Tell me. 14 bullets. Okay. Okay. Okay. There are 14 stations of the cross. I didn’t know that. In a Catholic church. I didn’t know that. Typically, in the pillars that surround the main open area, right areas, mounted facing inward are 14 drawings, paintings, relief maps. Got it. 14, they’re called stages of the cross. Got it. Okay. And they’re key moments in Jesus’ life. In the cross. Yes. 14 bullets. Now. Interesting. And he dies. Right. Then he’s resurrected. It’s come back more powerful than ever before. That’s right.

Is that not Jesus? That’s Jesus all day. Joining the died of God. That’s Jesus all day. All day. It’s Morpheus. He’s the Baptist. John the Baptist? He’s John the Baptist. Oh, the honor is mine. Because he knows Jesus is coming. Yes. He knows who he is. And sets everything up. He’s been looking for him. He’s been looking for him. And when he meets him, he goes, he’s supposed to be baptized by you. But is Neo really supposed to represent Jesus? Well, not exactly the Jesus the Christians worship. This entire thing is about the concept of the Gnostic Jesus, which all ties into the Gnostic creation story.

For those who don’t know what Gnosticism is exactly, let me give you a quick surface level explanation. Gnosticism is an ancient religious and philosophical movement defined by the belief that humans are divine souls trapped in a flawed material world created by a lesser ignorant deity named Yaldaba. In Gnosticism, salvation is achieved not through faith, but through acquiring secret personal spiritual knowledge or gnosis, which awakens a divine spark within. They believe that the evil lesser God Yaldaba, whom they see as the God Yahweh, created mankind and trapped them on earth, which is the material world.

They believe that Yaldaba and his army of archons, which are essentially evil angels, are working to keep mankind trapped in the material world, forcing them to live in a world that is only an illusion to force mankind to worship the false God Yaldaba. Gnostics believe Sophia, which represents the forbidden knowledge and wisdom, sacrificed herself to give humanity the forbidden knowledge. The Gnostics believe the Monod, which is the true God they worship, came down from heaven, which they call the Pleroma, and possessed the body of the man Jesus to provide humanity with the hidden knowledge to break free from Yaldaba’s control.

In order to ascend and leave the material world, now if you paid attention to my matrix recap, you might have already picked up on some of these obvious references between the matrix and Gnosticism. But let’s break it all down. The matrix embodies the concept of a false material world, the matrix, being a prison created by a lesser deity, the architect of the Demiurge, from which humanity must be liberated. Special knowledge or Gnosis is the key to escaping this illusion, with guides like Morpheus, representing Sophia, and a messianic figure Neo representing a Christ-like Redeemer, leading the way to spiritual awakening and freedom from the oppressive forces which are the archons that maintain the illusion.

In the movie, the matrix is the simulated reality where humans are unknowingly enslaved by machines, which is meant to represent the material world created by Yaldaba, which is considered a flawed creation that traps the divine spark of the soul. Another example would be the architect, who created the matrix or the machines themselves, who is a representative of the Demiurge Yaldaba, with the agents and programs like Smith being a representation of the archons. Agent Smith’s job was to enforce the rules of the matrix in order to prevent people from escaping, which is a reference to the archons created by Yaldaba that jobs are to enforce the rules of the material world and prevent souls from escaping it.

We see the same Gnostic similarities with Neo’s character. Neo is seen as the one who has the power to see and manipulate the matrix, the savior if you may, which is connected to the Gnostic Christ concept, a Redeemer, a messianic figure who provides the saving knowledge for escaping the material world to mankind. Just how Neo escapes the matrix at the end by ascending out of it, Gnostic Christ teaches about the hidden knowledge to ascend from the material world. We also see an example of the Gnostic guide Sophia, which is represented in the movie by Morpheus, who guides Neo towards his awakening.

The movie pushes the idea of achieving Gnosis, knowledge of the true nature of reality, which allows one to break free from the illusion. Gnosticism teaches about attaining spiritual enlightenment and awakening through direct personal revelations after achieving Christ’s consciousness through Gnosis. Just like Gnosticism, the matrix compares the real world outside the matrix as harsh and disturbing, but it is the world of freedom. Pushing the Gnostic idea that the spiritual world, the Pleroma, is the true transcendent reality while the material world is just a prison. Knowing all of this, you can see that the matrix isn’t about freeing yourself from a materialistic world, it’s about freeing yourself from the material world.

The entire movie is subliminally telling the Gnostic story, which most people don’t even realize. Once you see all the comparisons, it is impossible not to see the similarities. This is why the movie was so successful and heavily pushed by Hollywood, as many in Hollywood, especially those that control Hollywood are Gnostics, and this movie was a way to push their teachings to the masses through a popular film. A film that teaches the core concepts of Gnosticism. Next time you see the matrix, make sure to remember what we spoke about today, as you will likely see it through a completely different lens.
