Joni Lamb has Passed Away. Former Writer of the Daystar Television Founder Shares News Insight

Lamb passed away May 7th today, 2026. Prior to a recent back injury, Lamb had been dealing with serious health matters that she chose to face head on and in private. The back injury compounded these challenges and led to more serious medical condition that anyone had anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team and the prayers so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last days. Joni founded the Daystar Television Network alongside her late husband. I mean, what you probably don’t know is that they started it. The fact that it became what it did.

I mean, God definitely had his hand on this ministry. How do I know? Well, because I became the head writer of Daystar Television Network and for whatever reason, you know, God will move people into places and move people out of places. And I couldn’t be more heartbroken for the family and for Joni and for what I now know is going to be licensed for jackals to come out, foxes with their torches and try to like burn this woman’s name to the ground. I knew Joni to be a decent person, someone that was kind hearted and someone that cared.

When I had gone to get, you know, had to go back to New York and needed to, you know, fight to get, you know, my children, custody of my children. Joni was one of the reasons why I was allowed to do that. They gave me extra money. It wasn’t much, a couple of thousand dollars, but it was what I needed. It allowed me to work in New York instead of having to stay in Texas. So I worked from home, was able to raise my children and be home. What a blessing. And they allowed me to work there for years until, you know, the scandal broke and a lot of other things happened.

And then we parted ways. 2012. In fact, I even pulled up this morning after hearing this news, I even pulled up the final email that I sent Joni just a little while ago about Second Chronicles. There it is right there. A blessing and a warning. It was what President Trump read. I still was on, you know, good terms, not like we don’t talk on the phone or anything else. But we had made amends a long time ago. And so to hear news of her passing, it’s just, you know, it’s difficult. It was one of my favorite jobs, probably one of my favorite job of all time.

You know, besides doing what I do now, I so was rooting for Joni and for Doug and for the family. Rachel, Rebecca, I really hope that on some level that they can find some kind of closure, especially with what happened with with Jonathan and with his wife and children and all of that. That just it’s just it’s a truly heartbreaking and devastating story to think that she could have been sick the whole time and nobody knew it. She could have been battling something privately and no one knew it. In fact, when I was talking to a friend of mine who is close with the family but doesn’t know the ins and the outs of everything, he had said, you know, I wonder if that’s why things moved quickly when she got married.

Could you imagine if she was, you know, the whole time suffering and hiding it selflessly. And now, you know, now she’s gone. It’s surreal to me, you know, when I heard about Marcus I had a very different reaction because I was very close with Johnny I wrote for her, specifically I was her writer for years. And, you know, what I’ve seen happen to this family I have just been devastated by, I feel horrible for them. And I really hope that the, the people that took the time to just spend every waking minute of every day to come on to YouTube or elsewhere and to just condemn and tear down this woman who may have been sick the whole time, she was always good to me.

God placed me there for a reason, and then he moved me out when time was right. I began my journey selling mattresses, and I’m back to the beginning selling mattresses again and let me tell you something. That was one time of my life when I really really loved working in television, it was about the only time I ever really liked working in television. I love the people, Lane, Joni’s brother, who I consider to be like a brother to me one of my good friends I can’t even imagine what’s going on with him. Rachel, Rebecca, even Jonathan, all of them I watched them grow up I was when they were children I did these little adventures with them, the, the, the, the little land ventures now I just really pray, and I hope that this can bring this family together.

And I really hope and I pray if some of you stumbled upon this and you just wanted to hear the news. That you stay away from taking a tragedy and turning it into something for clicks. And, you know, you judge a tree by its fruit. This is a sad day. Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people. Daystar served shaped the ministry from the beginning, said the board of directors we grieve her loss and we’re grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind. Family is asked for privacy and prayers information about memorial service will be shared by the family at the appropriate time day stars mission does not change today previously lamb worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place, so that there would be continuity after she passed away so obviously she’d been fighting with some stuff dealing with some stuff that maybe all of the Christian attack dog places.

Christian attack dog, YouTube channels and maybe they didn’t really know the whole incident as we never really do know do we, we never really do know do we. It’s weird. I’m such a big part of my life. I remember when I left. I didn’t leave on the, the best of terms I didn’t leave on the worst of terms but we made amends. And now you make of it what what you you want to make of it. Obviously God’s in charge of everything so everything happens for a reason. There is the news. I hope that you pray for this family.

As I do. It is not a, it’s definitely a reason to mourn. She was. She was a kind hearted woman. And I enjoyed writing for her and she was never really cruel to me. I know that other people had their issues. And she did respond to me over the years when I reached out, especially when things were going south with her son.
