Hurricane Melissa: The Storm That Shook Jamaica

One can even imagine being a family member living in Jamaica or a person who lives in the states that has family in Jamaica. The feelings, the emotions, the turmoil. The Plantain Garden River there in Sunning Hill, St. Thomas, Jamaica to overflow into its banks. That is the southeast tip of the country. Residents there are being urged to remain cautious as these rising waters continue to pose a flooding risk. And the pattern in the way that Melissa just went through the Caribbean and started making little swirls and spins and all of a sudden it’s not only going to go through Jamaica, it’s going to devastate Cuba as well.

Romans 8 22 tells us for we know that the whole creation growneth and travailess and pain together until now. And events like Hurricane Melissa reminds us how easily things can change in all of our lives. Luke 21 11 it warns us of the fact that at some point in time and great earthquakes shall be in diverse places and famines and pestilences and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. We are in days that just as Melissa the storm that is devastating Jamaica right now is in the physical. We are in days that in the spiritual a huge cat 5 is approaching as well.

When you think of here in the United States of America the panic that’s already setting in at the fact that food stamps snap it is about to be removed in the month of November for many people. And that’s in the land of the free. That is the American dream land here. I want you to put yourself in Jamaica’s shoes right now. Put yourself in many of these nations that right now are at a point that Cuba is an example cat 4 by the time it gets to Cuba. Think of the devastation the hunger the trials the difficulties that are approaching these people.

It truly breaks my heart as I’m recording this audio because it’s it’s truly devastating to see the footage that I’m witnessing right now. And as I compare that again into the spiritual realm there is a storm there’s a cat 5 right now all over this world uniting the world as one and rebellion against God. And you can see that creation around the world is operating in a way that it’s it’s prevailing in pain. The creation is groaning. You have droughts all over the world. In Botswana wild animals are dropping dead on parched landscapes victims of the country’s worst droughts in decades.

This year the nation had its driest wet season in 40 years and the deadly conditions are being further exacerbated by extreme heat. The consequences have been devastating for wild animals like the bereft orphaned elephant calf found next to her dead dehydrated mother and a mother zebra who died in the middle of giving birth. Her fall tragically perished too. We must do everything in our power to prevent more tragedies like this. You have to have manipulated seeds to get crops to grow because if you don’t manipulate the seed the crop won’t grow and then they have to manipulate the rain so that we have cloud seeding or else that manipulated seed won’t grow.

Are we in times in this world where we’re seeing weather events we’re seeing signs in the heavens we’re seeing signs in diverse places we’re seeing the signs that something is coming and in a spiritual storm you prepare and in a physical storm you prepare the best way possible you board up your windows you get some extra gas you you buy a couple of canned goods some corned beef tuna fish something Jeff Boyardee who’s always smiling on that can he’s always looking so happy but in the spiritual sense are we preparing as well may we learn lessons from everything that’s happening on earth and could you take a moment to join me in prayer for those in jamaic heavenly father we pray for those people that are going through the storm right now as we’re recording this audio in the name of jesus christ that you may help them and guard them and comfort the children comfort the mothers comfort the widows comfort those that have worked years to build a little bit of a house and all of a sudden it’s being demolished comfort those that are at a point that they’re seeing the floods rise right now and they don’t know where their help and sustain is going to come from and they don’t know where their help is coming from may they feel right now the tug of the holy spirit of god in their heart reminding them that he is with them in the name of jesus if there are families in the states that are suffering because they have family in jamaica in the name of jesus christ comfort them remind them that you are awesome that you’re alpha you omega you’re first you’re last and that without you there is absolutely nothing father may we learn from these moments and understand how blessed we really are in this world you may have problems but trust me somebody out there has a problem that you don’t want no part of but if you’re going through something today be grateful that it’s exactly that that you’re going through and not something worse in jesus mighty name we pray for jamaica for cuba and for all of the nations around the world that are going through a time of testing in jesus mighty name amen god bless you guys thank you for passing by uh my heart’s broken just thinking of these things that are happening right now uh i don’t know about you but it really does make you think how blessed we are to have the situations that we have in our lives versus what other people are going through take a little bit of time tonight to be grateful at god’s grace and to be prayerful for the people around you god bless you
