Summary
➡ The text discusses the ancient civilization of Lemuria, known for its advanced technology and unique lifestyle. The Lemurians reportedly used sound frequencies for construction, healing, and even transportation, and harnessed solar energy in ways we don’t understand today. They lived alongside and domesticated dinosaurs, and cultivated grains and other vegetation. Despite their advanced civilization, there is no physical evidence of their existence, leading to skepticism and debate.
➡ There are mysterious sites off Japan’s coast and between India and Sri Lanka that might suggest the existence of an ancient civilization called Lemuria, despite no scientific approval. Some believe that Lemuria’s survivors live underground in a crystal city beneath Mount Shasta in Northern California. There have been attempts to find this hidden city, but none have been successful. The mystery of Lemuria continues to intrigue and spark curiosity about our ancient past.

Or had scrolls passed down from their heavenly ancestors. On the other hand, scientists fight these ideas as a whole and argue that Lemuria is a figment of people’s imaginations that quickly spiraled into a movement. The question is, who is lying? Is Lemuria a true tale passed down. Or a fake revelation to certain tribes? Or does science have an upper hand regarding this continent? There is only one way to find out. Here’s how this story begins. And it starts in a way you might not expect with lemurs. In 1864, an English zoologist named Philip Sclater noticed something that didn’t make sense.
Lemur fossils showed up in Madagascar and in India, but there were no fossils in between. Not in Africa, not in the Middle East. Just Madagascar and India, separated by thousands of miles of ocean. Sclater asked the obvious. How did the same species end up on opposite sides of the Indian Ocean? His answer seemed reasonable for the time. There must have been a land bridge, maybe even a whole continent, connecting them to this effect. He called this untouched space Lemuria, after the lemurs themselves. Before long, other scientists jumped on board, starting with the naturalist Alfred Russell Wallace.
Wallace studied animal distribution across Southeast Asia. And to his surprise, he found the same puzzle. He noticed identical species separated by vast stretches of water with no way to cross. Right after Wallace was geologist H.F. blanford, who looked at fossil plants in India and South Africa and saw such striking similarities. The results were so alike that in 1875, he admitted that only a direct land connection could explain this. At first, this evidence seemed too solid to ignore. In the late 1800s, deep sea explorations found underwater mountain ranges in the Indian Ocean. That is, massive ridges that rose thousands of feet from the ocean floor.
And people began to ask, what if these were the peaks of drowned mountains? It got so much that biologist Ernst Haeckel got involved in his work, the History of Creation, he suggested that Lemuria was probably where the human race first evolved. For a moment, it looked like Lemuria might join the ranks of accepted scientific theory. But then plate tectonics came along. Plate tectonics and continental drift. This is the discovery that continents don’t sink overnight like we thought. Instead, they move slowly over millions of years. And suddenly, Lemuria as a sunken continent made less sense. The scientists moved on.
However, the mystics didn’t. This is what we mean. While geologists were abandoning Lemuria as a scientific hypothesis, occult researchers were just getting started. And they claimed to have access to something the scientists didn’t. Ancient records, spiritual archives, some called them. The Akashic Records, a cosmic library containing the complete history of everything that ever happened. You know how tales of old have been passed down from generation to generation? This was what these researchers brought to the surface. And it started with the Russian American author named Helena Blavatsky. In 1888, Blavatsky published the Secret Doctrine. In this book, she described Lemuria not as a hypothesis, but as a historical fact.
According to her, Lemurians were the third root race of humanity. They came before Atlantis, before us. They were giants who lived millions of years ago, and their civilization was unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Then, as if to buttress Blavatsky’s point, in 1904, a Scottish historian named W. Scott Elliott took things to the next level when he published his book the Lost Lemuria. His source, he claimed to have copied information from ancient maps preserved by mystical masters. Now, these were not maps anyone could see or verify. They were maps that existed on what he called the astral records.
But to everyone’s shock, Eliot’s descriptions were incredibly specific. He gave coordinates, drew detailed maps, described the landscape, the people, and even the animals that lived in Lemuria. How crazy is that? Really crazy. But this is what makes Eliot’s book interesting. One look at his descriptions and researchers saw that he wasn’t just making wild guesses. Much of what he described, from the volcanic activity and the prehistoric creatures to the tropical climate, all match what modern paleontology has discovered about Earth during the Mesozoic Era, the age of dinosaurs, the age of giant ferns and inland seas. So did Eliot see something real? Or was he just a very good guesser who happened to align his mystical visions with actual geological history? The question haunted researchers for over a century.
Because if Lemuria existed the way these mystics described it, then everything we think we know about Human history is incomplete, maybe even wrong. According to the accounts compiled by Scott Elliott and other researchers, Lemuria wasn’t some modest island chain. This was a colossus of a continent. Starting near where the Cape Verde Islands sit today, off the coast of West Africa, Lemuria stretched in a massive arc across the equator. It swallowed up what is now Madagascar, parts of India, all of Australia. Then it continued east across the Pacific Ocean, sweeping past Easter island, the Marquesas, all the way to within a few miles of another giant landmass in the Pacific, roughly the size of South America that covered parts of Patagonia and Cape Horn.
At its peak, Lemuria nearly circled the entire globe. It was larger than Asia and Africa combined. The climate. Elliot described it as perpetually tropical, warm, humid, that kind of heat that makes everything grow wild and enormous. But more than the weather, Scott Elliott described massive inland seas, lakes so large they’d make the Great Lakes look like ponds. And from these bodies of water rose volcanic mountain ranges, constantly active, belching smoke into skies that probably never saw a truly clear day. To all who read Eliot’s works, this was clear. Lemuria was the most. In addition, the lowlands were covered in forests unlike anything we see today.
Imagine tree stems reaching heights of 100ft or more. Their trunks were as thick as redwoods, and their fronds cast shadows deep enough to hide creatures we only know as fossils today. The ground of Lemuria stayed ever marshy, as it was fed by rivers that flowed from the volcanic highlands. And everywhere you looked, you could see evidence of volcanic activity. Rivers of lava weren’t unusual in that continent. The ground trembled regularly. In some regions, the very air sparkled with heat from vents in the earth. Lemuria was a continent alive with geological violence, even during its most stable periods.
But even the landscape was just the beginning, because, according to these accounts, somebody built cities there. Massive cities that would make our modern mansions look average by comparison. Now we enter territory where the accounts divide wildly, depending on who’s telling the story, starting with Scott Elliot. He described Lemurian cities as Cyclopean. That is, they were built from enormous blocks of stone, some weighing several tons, fitted together without mortar. What’s more, the architecture was erected to match the scale of the people. Everything was built for giants. If you were to walk through Lemuria, you’d see temples with pillars 30ft high, fortifications with walls 15ft thick, gigantic plazas that could hold tens of thousands.
But other sources describe something even stranger. According to modern Lemurian researchers, the cities weren’t just made of stone, they incorporated crystals. Some accounts talk about buildings constructed from translucent stone that glowed at night. Towers that spiraled into the sky. Their surfaces catching light in ways that made them seem almost alive. These researchers say that the Lemurians understood something about crystalline structures that we’ve lost. They knew how to grow crystals to specific shapes, how to program them with information, how to use them as both building materials and technology. If this is true, then we humans have fallen short of the advancement we always boast of.
Lemuria had temples with walls that looked seamless, as if the entire structure had been carved from a single massive piece of rock. No joints, no rough, visible construction marks. Just smooth, perfect surfaces that seemed to appear from the mountain itself. According to Scott Elliot, some of the cities were built entirely from blocks of volcanic lava. One of these cities stood about 30 miles west of what is now Easter Island. It’s gone now, destroyed by the same volcanic eruptions that created it. However, Easter island itself holds evidence, starting with the giant statues called the moai. They stand at a jaw dropping height of about 30ft tall.
But that’s not the most surprising thing about these statues. It’s that they were carved with primitive tools, but they still fit with remarkable precision. According to Eliot, this was no mistake. They were portraits. Actual representations of the Lemurians who carved them. Or perhaps their ancestors from an even earlier age when the race stood taller. Think about that for a moment. Statues that reach nearly 30ft in height, carved to represent the people who made them, not gods, but themselves. Or else how could normal humans have built such statues at that time? If you think the Lemurian architecture is wild, brace yourself.
This is where things get genuinely bizarre. The modern accounts of Lemuria from New Age researchers describe Lemuria as a civilization with such groundbreaking technology. That sounds more like sci fi than ancient history. The Lemurians had no electricity as we do today. Yes. Yet their cities glowed with light anyway. Bright light that came from the crystals themselves. This is what some accounts call living light, especially because it responded to consciousness coming up when people were near and dimming when rooms were empty. According to Gaia’s historical research on Lemuria, their technology revolved around resonance and vibration. The Lemurians mastered the use of specific frequencies for construction.
What this means is that they didn’t lift stone blocks with ropes and pulleys the way we do. Instead, they used sound hard to accept. But with precise tones, they could make massive stones levitate, allowing them to stack heavy blocks with perfect accuracy. Unbelievable, right? There is more More to the power of sound in the Lemurian Age. With these tones, they created healing chambers. These are rooms where they use combinations of sound, color and crystal resonance to treat injuries and illnesses. They encoded water with specific energies for healing and growth, improving both crops and human vitality. No doubt, everything within their ecosystem must have been maximized for higher living.
Solar energy also played a major role. Not the solar panels, you know, those are crude by comparison. The Lemurians were said to have used devices to capture and store solar energy in ways we still don’t understand. This way, they created sustainable power sources that never went down. And if you wonder how they moved around, there were the vehicles. According to some accounts, the Lemurians built flying craft, not with engines and fuel, but with that same crystalline technology. And if you dare to push the boundaries a bit, there are whispers that their aircraft could become invisible at will.
In his book, Scott Elliot himself describes seeing records of Lemurians using crystals to propel boats. Not with sails or oars, but with focused energy emanating from carefully tuned crystal chains. This is the height of your sci fi novels, don’t you agree? Now, you might be thinking this sounds impossible, and you’d be right to be skeptical. We have no physical evidence of any of this technology. No artifacts, no ruins with glowing crystals or levitation devices. But here’s what makes it interesting. Many ancient cultures, completely separate from each other, describe similar technologies in their myths. The Vimanas of ancient India told tales of flying palaces and cities that glowed with inner light.
Even healing temples that use sound and vibration. Would you say this was a mere coincidence? Were these tales just random myths passed down by ancestors? What if they were faint memories of something that actually existed? Of Lemuria? If we can believe the stories our grandparents told us, why is it so hard to accept this? But let’s step away from the cities for a moment, because according to the accounts, Lemuria’s natural world was as extraordinary as its technology. In the Lost Lemuria, Scott Elliot talks about a world still in the age of Reptiles. From his records, dinosaurs didn’t just exist, they dominated.
Especially the massive plesiosaurs who lived in the warm inland seas. Another dinosaur class, pterodactyls, flew overhead with their wingspans reaching over 16ft. On land, these dinosaurs could reach lengths of 40 to 50ft. And guess what? Some of the largest specimens discovered in fossil records measure even more. But here’s where the descriptions get really strange. The Lemurians didn’t just live alongside these creatures. They domesticated Them. Can you imagine this? The Lemurians were said to have trained massive reptiles the same way we train dogs. They used the dinosaurs for hunting, protection and even for transportation. A Lemurian, 12 to 15ft tall, holding a sharpened staff and leading an enormous plesiosaur like creature on a thick rope made from twisted vines.
Using the beast’s strength and aggression to hunt other animals. Top tier lifestyle. We could also talk about their impressive vegetation. From their giant tree ferns, they created canopies so thick that sunlight barely reached the forest floor. According to Scott Elliot, the Lemurians learned to cultivate wild grains, improving them over thousands of years into the cereals we recognize today. Barley, oats, millet, you name it. But wheat was different. Scott Elliot makes an extraordinary claim. Wheat wasn’t evolved on Earth at all. It was brought, ready, made by advanced beings from another world, specifically to feed humanity. A gift that required no evolution, no selective breeding, just given.
Not just that, the Lemurians also kept animals we’d recognize. The ancestors of llamas, large cat like creatures, wolves. Some accounts mention the ancestors of Irish elk. Roaming the hillsides in herds too wild to easily approach, but still under some degree of human control. Well, the Lemurians had them under control. Records have it that Lemuria became a living laboratory of animals that would later solidify into the species we know today. Now we come to the most unsettling part of this story. The Lemurians themselves. According to Scott Elliot’s accounts, which he claimed came from ancient records, the early Lemurians were barely human at all.
At least not by our standards. Imagine this. They stood somewhere between 12 and 15ft tall. Their skin bore a dark yellowish brown color, almost mahogany. Their lower jaws were pronounced, giving them an ape like profile. Elliot noted that their faces were strangely flattened, with almost no forehead. That is where the forehead should have been. There was just a thick roll of flesh and their heads sloped backward and upward in this unsettling way. Their eyes were small but piercing. But that’s not as strange as it gets. The Lemurian’s eyes were set so far apart that these beings could see sideways as much as forward.
And then there was the third eye on the back of their heads that allowed them to see in all directions. In a 1904 lecture at the Royal Institution, Professor Ray Lancaster pointed out that many ancient reptiles had enlarged openings in their skulls, suggesting a third eye that actually worked. To date, modern lizards still have remnants of this organ. In humans, the third eye is said to have dissolved to form the pineal gland. But in the Lemurians, this third eye remained active for millennia. It served as their primary organ, not just for physical sight, but also for psychic vision.
These beings could literally see into other forms of reality. As for their limbs, their arms and legs were way longer than ours. Elliot noted that they couldn’t fully straighten them at the elbows or knees, leaving them with a hunched posture. Their hands and feet were enormous, with their heels projected backward in this bizarre way that let them walk backward or forward. For their clothes, they covered themselves in thick animal skins, most likely from creatures we only know as fossils now. But here’s what makes this even stranger. According to Scott Elliot, the Lemurians evolved over millions of years.
They went through what he calls seven distinct sub races. The earliest Lemurians had soft bodies with no bones. They couldn’t stand upright. Instead, they sluggishly crawled across the ground like enormous insects. But gradually, generation by generation, their bodies solidified. Cartilage eventually hardened into bone. By the third and fourth sub races, the Lemurians could finally stand and walk upright. By the fifth sub race, they had become the 12 to 15 foot giants with three eyes. And this was the sub race Scott Elliott describes in most detail in his book. But as they progress, we learn something interesting.
By the seventh sub race, their height had decreased. Their features had become less grotesque. They’d also lost most of the function of the third eye. Slowly, they began to look more human, more like us. According to Scott Elliot, the descendants of this seventh subrace eventually intermixed with the earliest Atlanteans. The result was offspring that looked remarkably similar to some Native American tribes today. Only this time, there was one stark difference. Weird bluish hair. But the questions remain. If Lemuria existed, where’s the evidence? We can point to the structures scattered across the Pacific and Indian oceans that don’t quite add up.
These are ancient sites that seem too sophisticated for the cultures we think built them. Starting with easter Island. Nearly 900 moai statues, some standing 30ft tall, weighing 80 tons, carved with primitive stone tools. When asked how they moved these giants, the natives say the statues walked to their locations. Modern researchers demonstrated that rocking motions using ropes could work. But the legends persist that something more was involved. Then there’s Nan Madol in Micronesia. Nearly 100 artificial islands built from basalt pillars weighing up to 50 tons, stacked like logs across 200 acres of reef. Local legends say the stones flew through the air, guided by sound.
Doesn’t this sound like the same Lemurian technology described by Elliot? The there is also the Yonaguni monument off Japan’s coast, which features carved steps and right angles too precise to be natural. If it was man made, it dates to 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. Exactly when Lemuria fell. Finally, there is Adam’s Bridge between India and Sri Lanka. Satellite imagery shows a 30 mile chain of limestone shoals. Hindu texts call it a bridge built by God Rama’s army. Yes, none of these sites are approved by science to say that Lemuria existed. But they suggest something. They show us that ancient cultures were building with techniques we don’t fully understand.
Makes us wonder, what if they got the info from a greater civilization that came before. But do you know the strangest part about what Lemuria looked like? It’s not in the past. It’s about right now. Because according to thousands of believers, Lemuria survived underground underneath Mount Shasta in Northern California. Unbelievable, right? When Lemuria collapsed 12,000 years ago, the survivors carved huge caves inside Mount Shasta using sound and crystalline technology and together. Word has it that they built Telos, the crystal city of light. Existing on five levels with 1.5 million inhabitants. People claim to see them. Tall figures in white robes walking around town, appearing and disappearing.
In 1904, prospector J.C. brown described discovered an 11 mile tunnel with a chamber containing gold and 10 foot mummies. He organized an 80 person expedition in 1934 to relocate it. However, on departure day, Brown vanished. Nobody saw him again. In 2014, someone dug a massive 60 foot hole on the mountainside. But the Forest Service quickly filled it up while offering an official explanation that read illegal gold prospecting. But in truth, locals whispered about someone trying to find the entrance to Telos. What did ancient Lemuria actually look like? Maybe the answer isn’t buried in the past. Maybe it’s hidden underneath our feet, waiting to be discovered.
