To them, your struggles are just stories to gossip about, something to pass the time. You don’t have to wait for that day. Let them laugh, let them mock. It doesn’t change your journey. Keep going, keep growing. Your strength will take you places they’ll never reach. And when they finally understand, when they feel the weight of their own struggles, they’ll wish they had shown more kindness. They don’t care. They won’t stop to consider your feelings. They won’t offer a kind word or a moment of understanding. Instead, they use their energy to tear you down, to twist your story, to make you feel small.
But life has a way of teaching lessons. The universe has a way of balancing things. Someday, they will face their own struggles. One day, they will know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of the same cruelty. And when that moment comes, they will finally understand. One day, they’ll face something similar to what you went through. Maybe not the exact same pain, but something just as heavy. Maybe even worse. And when that moment comes, they’ll remember. They’ll think back to how they treated you. How they laughed when you were struggling. How they brushed off your pain like it didn’t matter.
Some of them will feel guilt creeping in. Why was I so cruel? Why did I enjoy tearing someone down? The realization will hit them hard. This mindset is everywhere now. People find humor in someone else’s hardship. It’s easy to laugh when you’re not the one in pain. Have you ever had a bad moment, maybe in school or as an adult, where something went wrong and instead of kindness, all you got was laughter? You trip, they laugh. You struggle, they joke. You hurt, they make fun. And when you realize who finds joy in your struggles, do you still want them around? This happens all the time.
Someone trips, falls off a chair, gets hurt, and instead of helping, people laugh. But it’s worse now. The first reaction isn’t even laughter anymore. It’s grabbing a phone. A phone meant for calls, for emergencies, but now it’s mostly used as a camera. Instead of helping, instead of dialing for assistance, people hit record. This is why you can’t always share your struggles with people. Some will pretend to care, but the moment you walk away, they’re laughing at you. They’ll nod with sympathy in front of you and mock you behind your back. And if someone tells them to lighten up or just laugh it off, they’ll realize pain isn’t funny when it’s your own.
It’s easy to laugh at someone else’s hardship until you’re the one living it. But imagine if it were their home, their car, their life turned upside down. Would they still find it funny? Many people don’t realize the weight of loss until they experience it themselves. They see someone struggling and assume it’s no big deal. But when they’re the ones suffering, when they’re left picking up the pieces, losing money, facing hardships they never expected, suddenly it’s not funny anymore. Suddenly they understand. Life has a way of balancing things. What you put out into the world comes back to you.
If you spread negativity, mock others, and take joy in their struggles, don’t be surprised when life hands you the same pain. The universe works in cycles. Call it karma, call it cause and effect. Whatever energy you send out, you’ll receive in return. But those who choose kindness, who genuinely celebrate others’ success and feel for their struggles, will continue to rise. Good things come to those who lift others up instead of tearing them down. They will keep moving forward, keep growing, keep receiving blessings. So let them laugh now, let them mock and make fun. They don’t see what’s ahead.
Today the joke is on you, tomorrow it might be on them. Life has a way of teaching lessons, and when their time comes, they won’t be laughing anymore. Life has a way of teaching lessons. No one needs to wish them harm, things simply unfold the way they are meant to. What they put out will return to them. It’s not about revenge, it’s not about hoping for their downfall, it’s just how the world works. But here’s the good news, their negativity doesn’t have to affect you. They can laugh, but you don’t have to listen. They can mock, but you don’t have to take it to heart.
Your happiness, your peace, your progress, it’s all in your hands. They have no control over how you feel. Choose joy, choose gratitude, even in difficult moments, find something to be thankful for. Keep winning, keep rising, and keep becoming better. In the end, your progress will speak louder than their laughter ever could. [tr:trw].
