Daniel was endowed with the divine gift of interpreting dreams, which plays a crucial role in the narrative of the Babylonian and Medo-Persian empires. If you use a literal translation of 434 years and consider the 360 day calendar that the Jewish people had at that time this would bring us into the time frame of Jesus in 33 AD.

This prophecy from Daniel 9 25 saying until Messiah the prince comes was fulfilled in the year that Jesus had his triumphal entry into Jerusalem fulfilling the other messianic prophecy of Zechariah chapter 9. This is all taking place in the 69th week which is where we also see the fulfillment of the prophecy in the book of Daniel of the Messiah laying down his life. This all sets the stage for the 70th week to start to take place with the great tribulation and all of the last prophecies coming to fulfillment. And after the 62 weeks Messiah shall be cut off but not for himself and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary the end of it shall be with the flood until the end of the war desolations are determined.

This is obviously fulfilled through Jesus the Messiah laying down his life not for himself but for those who accept him as lords taking the sins of the world upon himself. With the destruction of the city and the sanctuary in the last part of that prophecy this took place in 70 AD with the Roman conquest of Jerusalem. This now places us in the 70th week earth’s last week or last time frame and Daniel 9 27 tells us some of the things that are going to take place during that time. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering and on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate even until the consummation which is determined is poured out on the desolate.

Right now in the Middle East the unrest the war and the peace talks are exactly what has to happen for someone to step in and declare a peace treaty and prepare the way for the abomination of desolation and the cutting off of the sacrifices. Peace is inevitable peace is going to unfold but it’s going to happen not through a political process but from a human process. something that is going to be far smarter than the smartest human so you know we’re not stronger or faster than other creatures but we are more intelligent and um and here we are for the first time really in human history with something that’s going to be far more intelligent than us um so it’s not clear to me we can actually control such a thing but i think we can aspire to guide it in a direction that’s beneficial to humanity um but i do think it’s one of the existential risks that uh we face and it’s potentially the most pressing one jesus said to watch for the signs of his coming and we’ve seen so much prophecies fulfilled already it’s really interesting to look into these current events and see how the final prophecies may unfold but the absolutely most exciting prophecies
