China Claims Amazon Cyberattack Is in Retaliation for NSA Hack US Denies

They can go. And there’s. The companies don’t like to think about these things. You know, it’s like they have other things to focus on. And so, and constantly things are getting updated and so if you’re not up to par with those updates, you can, you can kind of fall behind and then have things open to potential attacks. So. Oh, this is the name of the brewer, huh, Ashi? Yeah. Asahi. I’m not sure how to pronounce it. Chinese. They do beer, whiskey and some other stuff too. Peroni, some pilsner stuff. And Chiling Qiling is, is the ransomware group that was responsible for it.

And they had stolen 27 gigabytes of data from the company. So you know, if there’s like recipes or you know, insane details of how the company’s inner workings and then on top of all the data from their customers, I mean this, this could be, this is big. This is very, very big. I mean it caused 30 factories nationwide in Japan to shut down. That’s insane. Yeah, totally. We all know that after the wars that have gone on between China and Japan, there is no love between those two countries. They still to this day, both are very discriminatory towards one another.

There is a, there is a really funny video that this guy made about. I mean this exact topic was this just DNS or a data breach. And my friend Seth just to. Before we show this, he was saying that he thought he was reading stuff where Amazon was recovering lost data. And he said that’s something that would never happen. And just a DNS, it’s more like misplaced data. Where is it? Where if, like, if it was a cyber attack or whatever, there could be data that’s lost. And then it’s like, that’s totally different. So he said he thought he was reading something about that and he’s like, yeah, so he’s, he’s like to him, all signs point to.

From doing this for, for years now. He was just like, there’s. He said there was no doubt in his mind that this was an attack. But let’s, let’s show this video real quick. It’s kind of funny. Cyber attacked. This is for entertainment purposes only. We got hacked. Amazon Web Services, which is a cloud just like Oracle, has had an outage for almost nine hours that was supposed to be fixed in three. Nothing works. Just my opinion. So a lot of big companies aren’t working. Venmo, Amazon Life360 Zoom There was over 11 million total reports of outages with 395 plus ongoing problems.

2500 companies affected. Here’s what I found. Interesting. Ancestry had the highest amount of outages. This is a data breach. Are they looking for lineages to families because we’re getting hacked. I mean, they want our data. They’re not going to take your money. And if they do take your money, you’ll just get it back because it’s federally insured. Another scary one. Snapchat. Blackmail anyone. They could have got all those snaps. And we all know it goes on Snapchat. I thought this was interesting. AWS said the problem appears to have stemmed from a system designed to monitor how much load is on the network that did that much damage.

Oh, and experts say the disruption from today is going to total over hundreds of billions of dollars. Like I said, entertainment purposes only. This is probably the largest data breach in all of humanity. Question is, who got it and what are they going to do with it? We so got cyber attacked. Yeah. Yes, for sure. I. I thought that guy did a pretty good job just kind of breaking it down pretty easily. But yeah, there are some interesting posts on X too, but why don’t we show another trailer and then we come back. I want to talk about this and because I want to see.

I want everyone at home to. To look in their addresses to see if this. If this is true or not. But it really looks like it is. So we’ll. We’ll get into it when we get back. Who is the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run? The Cleveland torso murders are some of the most gruesome killings that have ever taken place in America. Some believe it was worse than Jack the ripper’s crimes. On September 5, 1934, this small, forsaken neighborhood that probably would have faded away into oblivion, etched its name in history. And the weird part is, is that there were very suspicious circumstances revolving around the suspects, which adds even more mystery to these horrible crimes.

All right, well, so this, this was interesting because I, you know, I’m trying to look up a lot of, like, all these kinds of things related to Amazon and somebody posted this on X and what they essentially. This is kind of a weird image, but what they essentially did was that they’re saying that hackers hacked into Amazon and one of the.

I mean, and. And this is like, you know, during when. Oh, this is from. This is from. Okay, sorry. I thought this was more recent, but it was a little while ago. But basically they were saying that they started adding addresses to people’s Amazon accounts. And that’s weird. Yeah, and mostly it’s. It’s like their hubs. Like, you know, when you. If you want something delivered to like a mailbox kind of thing, like the Amazon mailbox, and you can go and pick it up, but people were finding addresses already added to their accounts and it wasn’t in the areas that they were living in.

Like, someone from Texas was, like, there was an address from New York City. So I don’t know, you might want to, you know, it’s one of those things to check to see. And I guess there was an update on Amazon that, that said that they were doing. It says multiple local residents have reached out an unknown hub locker address, leading to believe their account was hacked. But it said that this was not a hack, but a recent update from Amazon that gives users the option to ship to a locker. However, people were commenting that it was being delivered there without them selecting it, and.

And Amazon didn’t really know how to correct it, it seemed. So I don’t know if this is still going on or not, but you might want to look into this yourself and see, you know, if. And it’s weird that they would be using Whole Foods. Yeah, yeah. Okay. So this, this was, like I said, this, this, this was a little bit. I was thinking this was more current, but I guess it’s still happening. People were still responding to this, especially after what just happened with Amazon. I think that’s why I was seeing these posts, because people were responding more recently.

So. But someone said on top of that, it’s not just hubs and lockers, it’s also names and numbers. When we called Amazon to correct this and get refunded, we asked and they said there must have been a data breach and that we are working to fix the issue. So, you know, the number one thing right now, and this is something that all cybersecurity experts will say is, Is. Is like our, Our data and biodata. Now that is the number one thing, the biodata, and that’s something new. And we, We’ve. We’ve definitely covered that before on the show, but that.

That is the number one thing right now is biodata. And everybody wants this. And why would that be valuable, Ben? Yeah, I mean, that. That is the big question. It’s like, why would that be valuable? Right. But it, It’s. It’s like what that guy pointed out is like, why are they going after, like, these DNA service things? You know, why do they want to know all this stuff? But it’s like they, they can monitor so much. They can. I mean, with. It’s like with your. With your metadata, it’s kind of like a digital readout of who you are.

Right. So if I had all of Rob’s metadata, I can understand kind of like who Rob is, but if I had his bio data, I could, like, use that in so much more nefarious ways. Yeah. You know, understand like, all your medical conditions, your. Your history, your background, your family, everything from that. And now you can target very specific things. You can say like, oh, like, you know, these people are. Or like, you can. You could. I mean, in a sense, you could almost develop some kind of cyber weapon. Or not a cyber weapon, but an actual physical weap.

Weapon that targets certain blood type, that targets certain people, that target certain things. You could do, I mean, for marketing purposes. That’s why all these companies want it. But then for more nefarious purposes, there. It gets really, really deep. And I think that’s why there’s so. There’s so many things out there. It’s like, send us your. Your DNA. Send us your DNA, you know, and it’s like, who knows what’s really happening with that? And then whole question of, like, you know, is there some kind of, like, alien influence involved with that too? So I think that that’s.

That seems to be the number one thinks it’s got to be the aliens. Gotta be the aliens, right? Or China. Or China working with aliens. Maybe that’s it. But speaking of biodata, I was just thinking this too. I mean, the other thing that went down were. Were anyone’s doorbells that were connected to Amazon too. And when I was looking this up, it’s like some of the most hacked things in our nation are the doorbell, the ring. Oh, yeah, the ring. Yeah. You know, I have a friend who works in that industry setting up like the digital cameras and stuff and speakers for different people.

And he showed me a website that they have access to as they’re setting it up that if you know where to go, you have access to everyone’s video cameras. And it’s like he, he was like. I was like, do you ever go on there? He’s like, no, no. He’s like, we don’t do that. And I was like, yeah, but it’s there. I was like, anyone who’s a creep could go on if they know how to get on there and just do whatever. It’s, it’s. All that stuff is streaming constantly in everyone’s home who has those cameras all the time through these systems.

And it’s actually a big organization on the Darknet where people are, it’s like, you know, whatever you, you, you watch, you know, people have it. So it’s like, oh, you know, you can see what I’m doing, or whatever. But now it’s like on the Darknet, they literally are selling and trading links after they hacked into various different systems of, of people’s homes. And it’s like there’s literally thousands and thousands of these pages where tons of people are watching random webcams, or not webcams, but cameras of someone’s personal home, and they have no idea that they’re being watched.

And that is something that’s happening on a massive scale. And it’s all over the Darknet. And again, these companies don’t really want to say it too much because then they’re afraid of losing a lot of customers. You know, if they came out and was like, hey, guys, sorry. Every single one of these cameras has been compromised. Like, imagine what’s going to happen. No one’s going to want those anymore. And the other problem is they kind of have a monopoly on these ring cameras. And, you know, I mean, there’s like the ring camera. Amazon has one. I think there’s only like a handful of them that really work.

Like, I was even looking into it. And then on top of that, even when you have it, you have to pay for the service to really use it. So it’s really kind of annoying to have on the house. My, my house automatically came with one of them. It’s just outside. But I, I don’t really. Anyway, I don’t really have the. I didn’t pay for this service, but I’m kind of like, do I need to. Should I pay for it? But I can see if you see things in real time though. But anyway, it’s just wild though.

Yeah, it really is. See other thing that I was going to get into. Oh yeah, I think the, you know, once again kind of calling this a cyber attack. I think the other thing that Amazon is worried about is that people leaving Amazon and going to other sites to order things. So like one of the Chinese sites. Yeah, yeah, that could really happen. And I found out that their AWS does have deep investments with China and they, they, they partner with Senet and Ningxia. N I N G Xia Ningxia. So you know, if they came out and were like, oh yeah, China hacked us, you know that I think they are a little bit.

Because they could block Amazon’s supply chain. There’s so much distribution from China to Amazon. So that’s their main concern too. I think that’s like a big, big aspect about it. So there was in two 20 and 2023. I don’t know if you guys remember, but there was a massive 18. Well, goodbye Ben again. Ben had another cyber attack. I’m just kidding. I don’t know what happened there. But yeah, in 2023 AT&T had a massive breach where all of their data, all like every one of their users got exposed and eventually it came out that it was China.

And, but the, but they didn’t want to say it was China for, for a while just because they wanted to safeguard the partnership that they had with China. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb dumb. That’s like being in an abusive relationship and being like, I don’t want to damage the relationship with this person who’s abusing me because I like, I like the money I’m getting. That’s basically it, you know. Yeah, it’s wild. I, I think, you know, I, I can imagine behind the scenes there’s probably so many phone calls that have been happening right now with people, government and the military.

It’s kind of like, you know, I, I imagine they’re collecting a massive amount of information on which car, like, you know, which. What really happened. And then it’s kind of like, okay, what do we say to the press and to the public? You know, so, yeah, and it’s always like a vague answer. It’s just like, oh, technical glitch. And it’s like, oh my gosh, that’s like, are you serious? It’s like the most vague answer you can possibly give. So. But, but you know, unfortunately, I don’t know if things can really change. I mean, what I’VE been reading online is that from a lot of different experts, including people within the government, saying that China’s level of cyber warfare is beyond anything of any country right now.

Because they’re not just like, they don’t have just a mass of people that they’re utilizing. They’re also utilizing this AI technology specifically to carry out many of the attacks. And that’s where they’re finding these really weak points, let alone like the other aspect is China has so many people employed in all these companies. There could very easily be like a, like a sleeper agent in any one of these. And that could been also what happened. You know, it’s just like, you know, they make a phone call and the person, you know, who’s worked for a company for five, 10 years, all of a sudden is like, okay, you know, here’s what you need to do.

And maybe that person goes to China right before it happens, you know, and then, and these companies can’t do anything. It’s not like, can go over to China and try to arrest the person. You know, that’s not going to happen. Plus, you know, China would make a big deal about it and all they can do is just try to like sweep it under the rug and just cover up for it. But I think that’s one of the main issues that, that we’re facing is all these people employed. So it’s like, it’s not just the, the, the hackers that China has working over in China, it’s also over here working against the system too.

And I think that’s the scariest aspect. But you know, I, I just hope that I, I think, I think you used, you kind of hit it though. I, I think the, the key aspect is these companies got to stop working directly with China out of personal gain and financial gain. It’s the, it’s the financial gain, but the financial gain is tied to the slave labor in China. They can get things made much cheaper. The people there get abused or paid very, very low to create and to work like 14 hour shifts. Like, yeah, it’s the whole, the whole corporate paradigm.

Like, you know, there is some truth to people shaming capitalism. And I’m, I would never say capitalism is evil just because like people should try to do business, there should be a free economy, people should try to make it big. But the problem now is there’s such an emphasis on profit that they’re willing to sell their soul to gain those extra millions or billions. And then we have a situation like this where now you’re in Bed with the devil. You’re literally in bed with the devil. And someday, when the devil wants to pull some strings, it could F the entire country up.

Yeah. And. And I think that’s another reason why they’re so afraid to say something. Yeah. Because it’s like, what do we do at this point? You know, your greed is being manipulated. Yeah. Your greed and your ambition is being manipulated into a situation that is uncontrollable because you can there. If there is one country on earth that you can’t trust more than any other, it’s China. You know, there’s a few on that list, on that top five list, but China is number one. And everybody’s fooling themselves by giving them money. So dangerous. Yeah. Is crazy. Yeah.

And the timing of. Once again, you know, so. So specifically, I don’t think I mentioned it on the show yet, but I just said transportation, different aspects, but it was. The China Ministry of State Security claimed that they obtained irrefutable evidence that the U.S. national Security Agency of the NSA hacked into national Time Service Center. It’s a key government facility that keeps Beijing time synced across the country’s finance, defense, and transportation transport sectors. So. But I guess, you know, but. But it’s like, it’s just been going back and forth. It’s interesting that. That, you know, but China claimed this, and then.

So the big question, you know, this happened on this would have been probably Saturday, Sunday our time, maybe Saturday during the day. And then literally less than 24 hours later or so, all this happened. So. Yeah. Less than 24 hours. Anyway, it’s Monday, so I guess it was Sunday. So. But, you know, once again, China hasn’t claimed responsibility for this. I don’t think they ever will. But. Yeah, I. I was thinking. Yeah. At first I was like, I thought they did, but I guess they have not. But. But I mean, sadly. Yeah. I just. I just hope, you know, I.

I really don’t think that we’re gonna get to the point where they’re gonna shut down everything. I just don’t think that’s gonna happen. I think. I hope not. I could see this going a lot of different ways. Yeah. And there’s a whole question right now about if she’s like, where is Xi Jinping? I guess he hasn’t been seen for a couple weeks now because he had a stroke. Allegedly. Allegedly. Other. There’s also rumors that he’s being replaced. That there’s. There’s, like, that’s been going on since. Yeah. Last October. Yeah. So it’s Hard to say what is going on.

So it’s going to be interesting, see what happens in the next couple weeks with that too. So there could be massive changes in China. I don’t know if it’s going to be a positive or negative changes, but we’ll see. As long as the CCP stays in power, it’s negative if there’s a new leader and if they’re like, hey, we’re gonna get rid of Communism, maybe that will be cool. But I think at this point they’ve done so much damage that I, I don’t, I don’t know if they can back out. Yeah, I think it’s just going to collapse and the whole world will see for what it is with, you know, and I just don’t know if they’re going to be like, yeah, okay.

But anyway, we’ll keep you guys updated. Any new information that comes out, we will let you know. Absolutely. Yeah. Meanwhile, I just hope our data was safe through all this. But I just, I’m always just under the assumption that our data is never safe. I was going to say is any data ever safe? I don’t think so. I don’t know. I think if we really truly knew what all, what they were using all this for, I don’t think anybody would ever want to use a computer ever again. Probably true. I really think it would freak us all out.

Ignorance is bliss in that case. Yeah, yeah, I think we would get so scared and I think that’s what they’re most fearful about is, you know, really having the people understand what’s going on. So.
