When you look at the data connected to this, the radio transmissions, it’s all showing that the biggest radio blackout right now, the potential is over Africa and with the velocity of everything that’s coming off of the Sun, it looks like this indeed is going to send off a CME. So this will be a third that has the potential to hit Earth between the 13th and the 14th. Now if we look over here at the images, it shows that the solar radiation that was let loose from the initial burst hit Africa. Now that is different than the CME energy that’s incoming and you can see the spike here on the graph as well.
Now there’s the potential here for more in the coming days. If you look right here where the spike is on the 12th, you can see that these waves, they come together right around when they hit Earth. Timing is everything with this and you really don’t know until they’re like right here on the doorstep. They could cross after they meet Earth or before. If they cross before, it’s what they call Cannibal CME and it’s going to cause this massive widespread region to hit instead of just one particular spot. It’s what they call Cannibal CME because it engulfs pretty much a large portion of the planet and it can cause big storms upwards of G4 which can cause a lot of problems out there for different grids and things of that nature.
There’s a look at that monster sunspot right there and here is a look at everything in motion. Looking at the top graph, you can see where that second wave meets the first by the 12th. So on the 12th, we’re going to get hit big time and then behind it, you’ve got whatever is getting let loose off the sun right now from this 5.1. So just a heads up here, this is definitely going to cause some activity. We’re looking at the potential for G4 class storms with auroras sighted as far south as France. So timing again the big thing here but big X flares letting loose from the sun and they expect more activity all the way up to the 13th.
