And that flooding events, globally, eventually gave way to these waters rising and covering up a lot of these areas, like the Sahul rise, all this of which they were saying was sticking out of the water above the water all the way toward Timor here in Indonesia. You can see the outline here of just exactly how far the shelf extended. And they say that there’s a lot of proof here showing that people had all types of stuff going on for as much as 65,000 years. So this is a lot of area underwater, which they say people were growing, living on, you know, when it was not covered over by water.

But there’s things there. They’re finding relics and other stuff. And some of this is a land bridge to other areas and other islands, like right now Tasmania, for instance, on the southern tip of Australia. It’s cut off. It’s an island. It’s cut off by water. It’s an island. But back then, it was part of the original one big landmass. Anyhow, they gave some details on this and said that scientists will continue to release information on this as they come across it. But it gets the wheels turning. And for anyone that can go scuba diving off this area or doing any kind of research in this area, you never know what you’re going to find in terms of ancient relics in a place where people were living for some 65,000 years.
