Some still unexplained or unsolved, and others directly tied to a couple of different serial killers. But since this Halloween, we found some scary connections with these paranormal events in Houston and the strange sightings of cryptids, monsters, and even ghosts. So join us on this Edge of Wonder live as we go deeper into this mystery, as well as explain these creepy. What these creepy sightings are. Yeah. We also have the weekly Bendella Effect and the metaphysical minute segments. Then over on Rise TV, we’ll hit the fan favorite top 10 weirder news of the week. Halloween themed, of course.
And with that, we’ll see you guys out on the edge of. Of infinity and beyond. Oh, my goodness. Mouse in my glove. You know, I also got a. A fog machine here, too. Yeah, I see it back there. You had all out, dude. Yeah, well, actually, that was one that we had for the show for a long. Whoa. Sorry. It was on automatic. There it goes. Wow. Oh, but unfortunately, I can’t use my mouse with my gloves on, so I have to at least take. You have to. You have to give us the. The Michael Jackson, Buzz Lightyear look.
Michael Jackson look. Yes. Ben, what show were you recording with the fog machine? Oh, so my brother and I, we. We did our. We. We have a, you know, our weirdest news in history show over on Rise tv. And we did the best of the worst Halloween movies. Like, the worst, best Halloween movies. And then the top 10, like, our favorite top 10. What was the. What was like, one of the worst. Troll 2. Oh, that was so bad. I saw those. Yeah, Bird Dimmick is another one that was on there. Yeah, the. The special effects and troll 2 were epically bad.
Oh, and Jaws, you know, you got like Jaws, the Revenge of the Jaws. So that’s fun. I can’t even remember. There was a couple actual Halloween ones, and I can’t even think of what they were right now. But anyway, yeah, it was fun. We had a good time. Dressed up in a different costume. So anyway, this thing is. Well, what were you dressed up like over there right now, or. No, the other show. No, I had on my. I have this, like, robot kind of costume, kind of similar thing, you know, But I was wearing these and this hat, but.
Oh, yeah, you were Raven. Yeah, these glasses on. It’s funny. But, you know, since you’re doing Woody, you’re. It was so funny. Rob’s like, I have a Woody costume. And I was like, dude, I got A Buzz Lightyear 1. Because a long time ago when we were still on YouTube, we were gonna do this. And so I bought the. I already bought the costume, and then I just never wore it, so I still had it. So I was like, whoa, we can do it for the show this time. It’s meant to be. It was meant to be.
After, like, five years, we got it done, so. All right, I’m gonna have to take these off because they’re a little bit. Kind of hard to see out of. But anyway, why don’t we. Before. So, yeah, you know, we were gonna do this, like, more kind of a Halloweeny kind of theme, which still is. However, once I started looking into what’s going on in Houston with these bodies, I was like, dude, we should. We should do more something with this. And that’s creepy paranormal cryptid aspect to it as well. So we’re going to get into all of that for this show, but before we jump into everything, we can start off with something a little strange and creepy.
So I found this. My brother and I, we talked about it on our weirdest news in History show, and I wanted to see what you thought of this. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen it before, but I honestly could say out of all the videos I’ve seen, this is definitely, definitely one of the strangest. Not the scariest, per se, just the strangest video I. I really have seen. And it’s like a ghostly flying dog ends up attacking a man. And it sounds ridiculous, but when you see this, it. You really can’t explain it. And this is not AI this is not AI 100.
This is. This was actually. I think it was. It’s. It’s. It’s years old. Before AI that’s why I know for sure. And. But, I mean, some people are like, it could be edited, but we’ll get into a little bit of this. So, Lindsay, if you could show this. I Think this happened in Brazil, if I’m not mistaken. Oh, in 2024. Oh, it does say 2024. Okay. I could be wrong. I was thinking it was a few years ago, so I guess this could be AI Right there. What is that? So something just flew and knocked that guy down.
And they’re calling it a ghost dog because they don’t really know what else to say. And look at that. And what’s crazy, there’s. There’s a few things, and my brother and I, we really broke this video down and played it really slowly and everything. One, that globe thing moves when that thing comes over. Two, that dog goes straight over to where that thing came from, and it literally knocks that guy completely down. And they need to help him. The only thing I’m trying to see if there was a reflection in the car. And I can’t remember what we.
What we. And the reason why they’re showing this is because the dog was like. The dog went right over where that weird thing took place. It’s like an orb or something. Yeah. I don’t know. Don’t know. It’s very strange. I mean, they’re calling it like a, you know, this ghost dog thing, but one of the strangest videos. And I. I really don’t think that it’s A.I. i mean, we really broke it down. I couldn’t find any reference for. For it to being AI Like I said, I think it happened in Brazil, but it was definitely one of the strangest videos I have seen in a while.
But. All right, why don’t we jump right into the Bendella effect with a Halloween theme. One, Freddy Cougar’s sweater colors. Oh, this I would. This I could weigh in on, because those were the horror movies I watched when I was a kid. Yeah. So I was curious, what you remember. What color was his sweater? It was like a dirty red and green stripe. Okay. Yeah. So the original one is red and green. However many people remember it being red and black and that everything takes place in. In, like, dark. It could. The green could be mistaken for gray.
Yeah. But, you know, and that I can understand. I think what it’s mostly shows is the actual costume. The guy in Robert putting on the makeup. What’s his. What’s his. What’s Robert Englund? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s where I remember this. And people dressing up in costumes and everything else. Now, people can obviously get it wrong, but, I mean, this was. You know, Freddy Krueger was huge coming out of the 80s. It was such, like, a big Massive movie. I mean, you have with Jason, the actual Halloween movies, and then with Freddy Krueger. So it’s kind of weird because I.
I always. I mean, I always remembered it as green and black, but then again, you know, like you said, the movies are dark. You mean red? Red and green. Is that what you’re ready? Red? No, I remember it. Red and black. I mean, you know. You do? Yeah, No, I do. And so I started looking into this a little bit more and. Or why his sweater is red and green because it’s like. Well, that is not like Christmas colors. What’s going on? And Wes Craven actually addressed this, and he says the. It’s based on the dark and green.
That seems almost eerie. Eerie, eerily black in some shots, even though it is green. But he said that where whenever he’s wearing his sweater, it’s actually creating a subconscious discomfort for the movie viewer. Yeah. Explains that a red and green pairing is actually more difficult for humans to perceive properly for some reason, because it’s weird. You know, that’s the colors, because they’re compliments. So when you. When you have color compliments like red and green or blue and orange, purple and some types of yellows or greens, it creates a vibration and it’s. It screws with your. Your.
Your eyes. As a designer, you know, and even a painter, you kind of are working with complements all the time, you know? Yeah, no, that. That makes a lot of sense. Another thing, too, is that if. If. If the color is gray on the stripe and the color next to it is red, your mind will perceive the gray as green. To your mind will naturally pull the gray into a greenish color. See how it looks gray there? Yeah. Because your. Your mind will give you the complement back of that. That brighter color. Right. It’s almost like your mind doesn’t want to think it’s green.
Kind of like the. That blue dress, you know, what color is the dress kind of thing. You know, it’s. Yes, true. But then also, like, colors are sympathetic. They. They take on traits that wouldn’t normally be there when they’re placed next to another one. Right. The only thing that’s weird is that I actually found cosplay and also sweaters for sale specifically for Freddy Krueger that are red and black, which is kind of strange. So this is one. You know, it even says. I think it says on here, red and black. Maybe it was a different one that said red and black.
Oh, it definitely is black in that one. Yeah, definitely is. You know, but it. But it’s specifically Freddy Krueger sweater, which is weird. And there’s other stuff that I found too. Let’s see. And there’s some cosplay ones here. Of. Of. Let’s see. Wait, well, that. That’s the one. Yeah. Lindsay’s sorry, she’s getting different links here. This is the one is Robert as. So that one is green. You know, you can see, you can tell that this one’s very green. But some of these other ones, it gets kind of crazy because it’s like, why is it black? Yeah, it’s freaky.
That’s green. That’s green. But then the one on the left there, it’s black. Yeah. So it’s like. That is weird to me. Yeah. And you know, green there, but such a creepy dude. It really is. 1075. Good Lord, I am buying that costume. Why is that so much money? Maybe, I don’t know. Maybe that’s the exact one in the movie. It’s like, what are you paying for Freddy Krueger to actually show up in the outfit? That’s actually Robert there as Freddy Krueger, but he says he’s getting too old now to pay to play. Well, dude, I’ll tell you what.
Of all of the different people that have played horror characters in history, Robert Anglin’s actual personality is the closest to Freddy Krueger’s of any of. Of anyone they could have chosen. I mean, he’s. He’s a weird dude. If you’ve ever watched interviews with him. I have not, but I would believe you also. I mean, he was in. Yeah, he was in Strange Season 4 of Stranger Things. Yeah. Yeah, they pulled in a lot of people to. To help out. I don’t know much about him, honestly, but he’s a weird dude. My brother would probably agree with you too, so.
Super weird dude. It’s cool. Well, guys, what do you remember? Let us know in the. In the chat there. So. Oh, by the way. Yeah, we are pre recording this because since Friday’s Halloween, there’s a lot going on, so we just thought it would be easier to pre record this. So just. Yeah, not too much. Yeah, pretty close to Friday. That’s. That’s what I’m trying to say. Pretty close to the time that we would normally do it. So. Anyway. All right. Rob, you have some Halloween themed metaphysical stuff going on. Yeah, yeah. By the way. Yeah, you should get a cowboy hat.
Oh, you like it? Usually you just. It looks. It does go with you. Yeah, you should definitely wear it. Yeah, I’m on the market for one right now. I’ll see what I can find. I’m just kidding. Yeah, okay, go ahead. Sorry. Yeah. So, you know, we were thinking about the different metaphysical episodes that we’ve produced that are the closest to Halloween, and a few came up that if you’re looking to get into the mood for Halloween, these will freak you out a little bit. The first is Deadly Secrets of the Pharaoh’s Tomb, King Tut’s Curse, which goes through all the creepy happenings around King Tut’s actual.
The finding of King Tut’s tomb and the. The. The deaths that occurred around it. It’s weird. And there’s a reason why this story has captured people for a cent for over a century. You definitely check that out. The next one is the story behind 1899, which was a show that came out on Netflix. You can check that out. It’s the cursed ship of Mary Celeste. This is considered the most cursed seafaring ship ever. And the mystery behind it. What happened to all of the people on the Mary Celeste ship, if you’re interested in that? They just disappeared.
And they found the ship basically offshore with no one on it and. And no real conclusion as to what happened. We were so confused about it. We had to get John remote to remote view it and figure out what actually happened to the people on the Mary Celeste. Definitely check that out. Super interesting. And then finally we have the Dancing Plague, which is super. Just weird. I mean, Ben, you and I have talked about this on the show before, where people. Where was this? I can’t remember the actual place that this took place. It was an Eastern European place where one.
One night they. They got some kind of fever and it was some plague that end. People just ended up. Where was it? It was in France. Okay. It was in France. It wasn’t Eastern Europe. It was France. They ended up dancing themselves to death from this plague. And it’s super weird, the information we have about what happened. I mean, it’s never really happened again in history. So what actually happened to the people there? That’s a really fun episode that. If you haven’t checked that out, you should definitely go onto the Metaphysical channel and check that out.
And yeah, most of our stuff will get you thinking and keep you up at night, but those three were really stood out. You know, Another one that’s cool is ectoplasm. Is real immortal life force revealed. So if you want to know what’s really behind Slimer, that’s for you. That’s cool. Yeah, go ahead. All right, we’re gonna play an intro here so that they can check this out. I found a document from 1972 in the CIA archive that detailed parapsychology experiments being conducted by the Soviets. And things just went full ghostbusters. It said, quote, if one reads the cases and experiments mentioned here, he can make certain deductions.
If any of this highly questionable material is true, then it can be inferred that organic matter can be transformed into ectoplasm. That this can be rendered invisible and impalpable and thus converted into something which for all practical purposes, amounts to force. If organic matter can be converted into such force, matter, it seems reasonable to assume that a physical object, if similarly converted, could travel through space. Hang on, because things just got weird. If you think this is going to be about some fictional substance that’s all already been thoroughly debunked, think again. The US was documenting that the Soviets had conducted multiple experiments and case studies which proved that living matter could be transformed into this thing called ectoplasm, which could be converted into some kind of force that would transcend space itself.
What the heck? I had to know if there was more to this, of course. So I started researching ectoplasm. And let me tell you, it was just. Just the tip of the iceberg. I realized it was a part of a bigger horrifying story of a real life Dr. Frankenstein, an American aviation hero, the search for immortality, organ transplantation, eugenics, and the spiritualist movement. I gotta say, I was not expecting to find any of this on a random Tuesday. But hey, when you have a show called Metaphysical, Sometimes the weird finds you. Join me, Rob counts for a show that’s out of this world.
That was a fun intro. Definitely go check that out. Very, very cool. All right, why don’t we show a trailer and we get back, we’ll start talking about the Houston Bayous. I assure you, vampires are just in the movies. I would swear it on my soul if I had one. What truths are lurking in our legends? They couldn’t possibly be based on a real life monster, could they? Vlad the Impaler was not just known for his war tactics. Some say that he was also the world’s first vampire, Dracula. But is it all just a batting tale or are the movies talking about something real? Find out.
In part one of Edge of Wonder’s Halloween series, Vlad the Impaler and Dracula. Monsters of the seas were long thought to be myths. But some magic hunters sought power for themselves, believing that old legends held secret truths. Why did the famous occultist Alistair Crowley make his home on Loch Ness, which later became famous for its elusive creature. Why are there so many paranormal sightings in the area? What other creatures of the deep have been spotted in Scotland that are largely ignored or considered local folk tales? The human mind enjoys impressive visions of unearthly creatures. Now then, the sea is precisely their best medium, the only setting suitable for the breeding and growing of such giants.
Next to which such land animals as elephants or rhinoceroses are mere dwarves. Find out what creatures may be a lot closer than 20,000 leagues under the sea. Join Edge of Wonder for a deep dive into the cryptids of the abyss. Oh yeah, we’ve done our research on good old Vlad the Impaler and sea monsters. So if you’re looking to find out a little bit more about that, it’s all on Rise TV with a thousand videos of crazy mysteries that you can get access to just by supporting our work and showing us a little love. It’s just $12.99 a month and you get access to so much stuff you would never know otherwise, I promise you that.
Yeah, so true, so true. Yeah, over a thousand videos we have over on Rise tv. So come over and join us. Well, let’s get into these Houston bayous. Ben. Yeah. You know earlier I said when we were reading the intro or saying the intro, I was like, oh, I think it’s, it’s at least, at least over 100 bodies. But that’s what they just found since 2017. It has been hundreds of bodies recovered throughout the decades. So 109 or. I’m sorry, 189 bodies have been recovered since 2017. Yeah, I saw, I saw some data earlier today that was, was 220 bodies since 2017.
Could be, it could be more. The problem is that they didn’t really keep. For some reason it’s been hard for people and journalists to get a lot of information about what is going on. As you can see these numbers and figures go into everything and they were like, oh, we didn’t really. We don’t have really a very extensive history prior to 2017, which is why we just started collecting it even though there actually is. So. So there’s been so many questions whether some kind of weird cover up is involved, if something is really happening. Murders, serial killers, some strange cryptid stuff, paranormal things like all of it people are talking about right now.
I had no idea this was as massive as it was, you know. Yeah, I mean, are these, you know what comes to mind first? Are these mafia or gang related deaths? You Know. Yeah, exactly. That, that, that’s kind of what I thought too. So, you know, the, the mafia was hiding all kinds of bodies in the, in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. So I’m imagining this is their Pine Barrens. Right, right. And it’s like, who are these people? And so that’s what that got into. Most of these are just your average person living in Houston.
A lot of it has been written off as like accidental drownings or some strange related death or intoxication. And you know, wander around and you know, so that’s where people are questioning. So Lindsay brought up this article. So 16 bodies were found this year and the mayor is dismissing it as serial killer because there’s a lot of speculation and you know, people living in the area, they want answers. So they found 16 bodies this year. The mayor says, here’s no Lindsay, you can pull this article back up or. Yeah, I don’t know what that is. That’s from, that’s from the Sopranos and the Pine Barrens.
Okay. They dump bodies over there. I see. Okay. Yeah. Anyway. But a retired NYPD sergeant and a criminal justice professor said something is afoot. A coincidence. Unlikely. A careful inspection of each case is warranted, including the 48 hour prior to the discovery of their disappearances. Yeah. So there was also something in Austin, Texas, waters of Ladybird Lake and that. I’ve heard a lot of stuff around that. Ladybird Lake, Austin. A lot of people. When I was in Austin, a lot of people were talking about that one. What about just that lots of people go missing there or what? Yeah, people missing.
Weird things, possibly paranormal related stuff. Ghosts, cryptid stuff, all kinds of things like that too there. So five bodies were discovered in just a five, five, five day span just last month. So. But again the police chief is saying there’s no evidence, I repeat, no evidence to suggest that any of these incidences are connected. But then it’s like why are we finding so many bodies? And I think the main thing for me is the fact that they’re so quick to jump on the fact that it’s like this is definitely not a serial killer. Even though they have no idea what the people even died from.
How can you make any kind of conclusion no. When there’s nothing even there to go on? So that’s, that’s what mean. That’s also. It’s super suspect when a mayor and the chief of police. These are, these are people that oftentimes are the ones that are threatened the most to not reveal information when something goes down. Right. I mean, that is very, very true. Yes. Because, I mean. Yeah, they don’t. How did you become the chief of police in a high crime area? You know, I’m not accusing anyone necessarily. Hopefully those police forces are clean. But, you know, where there is power, there is definitely a higher percentage of threats that can come in.
Right, exactly. And the media is not helping either. You know, CNN had this article they’re trying to con, you know, why officials are convinced it’s not a work of a serial killer, even though bodies keep being found. And, you know, they just go into it. So there was a. There was. The father of Kenneth Cutting Jr. A 22 year old who was found dead last year, expressed frustration with authorities after the medical examiner elicited his son’s cause as undetermined. So it’s like most of these. Most of these causes. Yeah, Most of these people that have been found, it’s undetermined.
I think they’ve only determined something like six of the bodies have. Yeah. Pinpoint how they died. Like accidental drowning is the main thing. But it’s like they don’t. It’s that. What does that even mean? You know, how. And then he. And he’s like, dude, he’s like, my son did not fall into that. I don’t know if there’s a serial killer, but the way that they’re dealing with these bodies is ridiculous. And I. I completely agree too. I mean, it’s like they’re not. This is. It’s so weird. It’s so weird. You know, I kept thinking about, well, that’s what I was like, how would they have handled this in the 90s and in the early 2000s? And it’s a totally different scenario.
And we’ll get into what I found because it was. It’s pretty wild what I found. Now there’s a video here. This is pretty interesting. This is an actual recorder or reporter who’s breaking down the numbers and she’s just like, things are just not adding up. 189 bodies have been pulled from Houston Bayou since 2017. That’s according to data from the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. Hey there. My name is Jaewon and I’m a reporter at KPRC in Houston. I know the topic of bodies found in the bayou has been of high interest to many of you.
And our newsroom wanted to take a deeper look at the numbers over several years. So I requested data from the local medical examiner’s office dating back to 2015. Well, a spokesperson for the office did return Data, but said it was only available from 2017. So I got the data from January 2017 until now, and I took a closer look at it, and here’s what I found last year and this year. So 2024 and 2025, there has been a sharp uptick in the number of bodies found in the bayou compared to. Compared to in years past. So for some context, in 2017, there were 18 bodies found.
In 2019, that number was 12. In 2020, there was an uptick, and it was at 26. But last year, 2024, there were 34 bodies found in the bayou. So far this year, according to the medical examiner’s office, there have been 27. When you look at the data by zip code, about 30% of the bodies were found in the downtown area to eastern would. And here’s another interesting tidbit. 75 bodies have undetermined manners of death. That’s nearly 40% of all of the bodies found. Now, remember, Houston city leaders have stressed that a serial killer is not connected to the discovery of these bodies.
I’m continuing to look into the bodies found in the bayou and analyzing all the data. If there’s anything you want to share with me, you can reach out to me on social media. I think that the reason why the mayor would say something like that is just to keep people from being afraid. But they don’t. They don’t know if they’re connected yet at all. No. And especially if they’re like, on undetermined how they even died. You know, the other factor is these could be illegals coming over, and just maybe people were there as they’re, like, walking over, and they were.
Someone saw them and they don’t want to be seen, and maybe that’s what they’re doing. Is there any demographic data on. On the people that died? Did they them. Were they Mexican? Were they white? Were they all over the spectrum? You know, in the 90s, they were all women being pulled, and that’s when they discovered it was actually a serial killer that was specifically targeting women. So. And they figured out who it was eventually. But there’s. There’s a bunch of them that were found through the late 90s into the 2000s, and they suspected it was a serial killer, and it was never found.
So it’s pretty wild. But, yeah, the. The one guy, Juan Garcia Loredo, was 69. His body was recovered this year. His death is undetermined. Another guy was only 34 years old. Kenneth Jones. His death is also listed as undetermined. There was a Convicted Felon George Gray’s 54, who was also recovered from it. And his death is also undetermined. So it just goes on like that. Another guy’s 60, 62, Ernest Armstrong. You know, these are just like, you know, Americans. I don’t know about the Juan guy who was 69. Then there was a Raymond Hatton Jr. He was only 30 years old.
They found his body on in July. Raymond was a typical round the way guy who loved to write and recite his lyrics to anyone who would listen. That’s what they said about him. But, you know, and it’s, it’s like some of the. But I know the, the bayous back there. I mean, it goes on for miles. I think it’s like, you know, 2,000 potential miles. So that’s why, you know, there sometimes they’re like, oh, maybe it’s dehydration, maybe it’s lack of food. Maybe they like, you know, were drinking or on drugs and they fell. But, you know, if the coroner is coming back saying like, we’re not seeing anything intoxicating in this person.
And again, a lot of the. Well, like I said, I’m gonna, I want to get into some of the more stuff in the 90s, but that was a weird connection when I started looking into this. And it goes all the way back to the 70s, even. That’s the wild thing. And it’s like, it’s strange that we’re in the time period we’re in now and they’re like, oh, yeah, we don’t really have much data. Probably prior to 2017, when I’m looking at old newspapers and I can find all the stuff in old newspapers. So why wouldn’t they have data now? Why aren’t they giving that data away? Yeah, I think they’re just afraid.
And there’s a private investigator who challenged the Houston officials on being a serial killer. And he said that it was too, too soon to rule out a potential serial killer behind the mysterious deaths. And Lindsay, if you want to pull that article up, this is. I’m, I’m. I highlighted it and there you go. Yeah. He said they’re saying they don’t have a serial killer, but I’m not sure this, this. His name was Coleman Ryan, who was working with the family of Kenneth Cutting Jr. Who was only 22 years old. He said maybe their objective isn’t sexual assault, it’s not robbery, but they’re just throwing people in the bayou.
So he says the authorities have not yet accessed Cutting’s phone or location records. So the family hired impress a private investigator since the police weren’t really helping on this matter. So. And Ryan’s. Ryan’s toxicology report came out negative. So he wasn’t under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. His. His. Again, his autopsy report was determined undetermined in the cause of death. So they’re trying to figure out, you know, where he was, what he was doing, who he was with, and how he. Why did he end up dead. So. And also, like, if, you know, when the bodies are found in the water, the water really degrades the body even further, so it makes it even harder to determine what was going on here.
So it’s wild because there’s been so many theories. People are gonna, you know, especially locals, they’re. They’re getting very, very antsy. They’re not really getting help on top of potential serial killers. Then there’s like a whole weird paranormal aspect to this. And there is. There are a few videos out there, people talking about it. I was just going to show one of them here. It’s not the best video in the world, but the girl does a pretty good job of breaking down what happened. Animal creature thing was huge. It did have big black eyes. It jumped three feet from the circle here.
Then it jumped to here. Ruby stated that she was scared for her life. She thought that whatever this thing was was going to jump either on top of her car or attack her. This creature looked both ways and it jumped into the water. And just two days later, they found a body on the other side of the bayou where this thing was coming from. Going down this Houston bayou creature rabbit hole. I come to find that many of you guys have also seen something very strange in the Houston areas from southeast Houston to north Houston, west Houston.
There. There may be something lurking in a Houston area. This Tick Tocker stated she had a similar experience driving home late night after work while talking on the phone with her friend near Chimney Rock. And if you know where Chimney Rock is, is right there in uptown. She saw this tall black shadow figure up on one of the buildings, moving from rooftop to another. Like it stretched his arms and pulled itself across. She told her friend and she said, good, a girl. That must be a giant because she was far away and it still looked huge.
She stated that she felt the same fear she described. And glad to know that she’s not the only one seeing stranger things in Houston. Another Tick Tocker stated that I was reminding her of a story her brother told her. He’s older than her and in his 40s he stated that he skipped school one time with a friend and went to the woods here in Houston along the bayou. You, the landscape was much more different then. And he said he came face to face with something huge with wings. He said as he got older, he heard about the Mothman and he told her that that’s the only thing that he could describe it as or something similar.
Next video, I’ll be sharing your experiences with the Houston bayou creature. And trust me, some of them are wild animal. Yeah, like I said, it’s not the best editing video. But she’s from the Houston area, so I thought, you know, I wanted to show her video because she, she knows what she’s talking about and how she’s talking about it. So, yeah, pretty wild stuff considering that there, there has been a lot of weird reports of all kinds of strange, supernatural things in the area. Also. The other thing I found too is I. So I wanted to look at, you know, people that lived in the area.
And I was forms. And I found this Reddit form where somebody was asking on Reddit, what’s your theory of all the bodies being pulled in the bayous? And I thought some of the responses were kind of interesting. This one comment from the vampire Duchess, she said, I’ve lived in Houston all my life since 1970, and there’s always been bodies found in the bayous, but never five in one week. And then someone with nope, nope, said, yeah, this is clearly not a bunch of accidents. And homeless. The, uh, students that they just identified as a clear example.
Foul play for sure. And then somebody else said, exactly, everyone in the comments, people drown all the time. Five in one week. Question mark. Okay, sure. Meaning like that, that this, there’s something way deeper going on here because, yeah, it’s kind of like, okay, you know, there, there is, there has been a massive history of these deaths in the bayous. And again, that’s what I started looking into in some of the old reports. So it is pretty wild what I found. But why don’t we, why don’t we go into another trailer and then when we get back, we’ll start talking about some of these older deaths that happen.
The Bermuda Triangle is one of the most mysterious and paranormal places in the world. Ships, planes, and people disappear there, never to be seen again. Are the paranormal aspects of these disappearances really just a myth? Are the tales of both vanishing off the face of the earth telling us something strange is going on? I guess it was on automatic there, but yeah, so many different episodes. Thousands or over a thousand. We have documentaries, we have tons of Halloween content over there. You know, a lot of it is paranormal, so pretty cool stuff.
So you should definitely check it out and join us if you haven’t. All right. Um, I want to get into a little bit more of these. The history of the bayou aspect, you know, So I was looking more into it, and There are over 2500 miles of interconnected waterways like buffalo braes, white oak greens, and then, you know, they kind of all inter. Intertwined with each other. So there’s a massive amount of drownings, accidents, occasional foul play. But, you know, there’s. But when I started looking into this, I was very surprised. And there was something called the.
Or there was someone called the Railroad Killer. And in the 1990s, they figured out it was a serial killer. He confessed to killing 15 different people, mostly women across Texas. And. But, but he. But not a dedicated. He wasn’t like dumping them in any specific place, I guess. And so, yeah, so they’re also nicknamed the Texas Killing Fields because of that. Really? Yeah. And in the 80s and 90s, they found 10 unidentified female victims dumped in fields near the bios. And they, they actually believed it was linked to a possible serial serial killer activity. They don’t know if it was the Railroad Killer in the end, but this was more in the 80s, so they actually think it was different people, but they’re not.
They weren’t really sure. They were not completely submerged. The investigations even went going into the 2000s, and Laura Miller, who is 16, she was strangled and dumped, and her case is still ongoing. There’s no. They don’t. They, you know, they know it was a murder, but they don’t know who did it or why. Between 2000 and 2005, they found a cluster of 8 to 12 bodies. There was. There was a suicide among those and a couple overdoses. So they ruled most of those as accidental drowning or natural death or, you know, but who’s wading into the Houston bayous? I mean, biggest question, why? You know, I don’t think you’re just walking across the bayous for no reason, you know? Yeah.
And then even the. Even the overdose thing, it’s like, did you overdose before or after you were in the bayou? You know, I mean, wouldn’t the overdose mean that the body was then moved there after it. Was it OD’d to hide evidence? I don’t know. Don’t know either. That’s why the whole thing is very murky to. You know, when I kind of like your background. Your background’s really murky. The fog. The fog, yeah. It’s kind of cool, actually. The whole room is kind of murky, I guess because I’m in the light, so I’m not as bad.
Okay, let’s see. In 2008, in the Buffalo Bayou, the more downtown area, six bodies were recovered in 18 months. And. And there was. They actually found a strangled victim through that too, which was ruled as a homicide, but they said it was isolated. But again, you know, and I think. I mean, this is such a wide area that I think this is why they have such a hard time with this nailing down what exactly happened. But. Yeah, and then we have all the weird cryptid stuff, and some of these I’ve never heard of. I guess they’re Is very specific to the.
To the Houston Bible, the Houston Devil or something. Yeah, yeah. Longue. Am I saying right? Paralangua. Paralangla. Yeah. Okay. So this is also known as the bayou creature. Supposedly it’s a. Oh, yeah. You can play that if you want. I don’t. I don’t even know if I think half man, half alligator. Why does this thing look like an eagle? So I’m like, what the heck would they do with this thing? Looks like. Yeah, I don’t know. But it’s supposedly a bipedal reptilian, seven to eight feet, glowing red eyes and has fur. Blame for livestock vanishings or dragons I guess like, or like dragging things.
There was a recent video claims sighting was near a. A body site. You know, this is all one of those shaky footage things and I don’t know, I’m kind of thinking this is fake, but at least you kind of get an idea of what this thing could look like. So. Look like a Blair Witch freaky guy. Yeah, I mean I’m. I’m like 90% sure. Yeah. That is not real. That’s so fake. That’s beyond fake. I didn’t actually see the whole thing. I just saw the first half of it because I was like, okay. You know, I was just looking for like that was some, some Troll 2 special effects.
I would say that too. Troll 2. And then you got the, the Rougalou, which. That’s what my brother, My brother had that encounter when he was in the Louisiana back. The back roads of Louisiana, which is like a werewolf looking creature that’s. Or Dogman, I would say that comes out supposedly in full moons. But that’s one of the things that a lot of people have been reporting, seeing around. Well, I mean that makes sense. It’s not that far from Louisiana and the, the name is. Because the Cajun culture, you know, they speak French. It’s a type of French and in French it’s loop garou and it just kind of transformed into Rougarou, I think.
Yeah, exactly. Which basically is like a werewolf. But I had my brother tell the story a couple of different times. But it was with his then wife and they were driving because they, they didn’t want to. They were going to New Orleans, but they wanted to kind of go into the area that wasn’t as touristy. And so they’re going on these back roads. And that’s kind of very similar to what he saw. And he said, you know, they were driving and it was late at night or it was not late at really that late, it was just dark.
And then he saw this giant creature. He said he thought it was just like a wolf or a dog eating something on the side of the road as they were like driving up to it. And then he was just like, look at that creature. And he said that it had giant eyes that was like reflected in the light. So it was like these glowing yellow eyes that, that wasn’t actually glowing, but it was from the headlights, you know. But what happened was he said the thing stood up on its hind legs, which freaked him out. And he said it was about 6ft tall, and then it just took off on its hind legs deeper into the forest.
And he was a dog man. Yeah, he was just like, did you see the same thing I did? You know, and he said it happened so fast they didn’t have time to get their phones out to record anything. Also, he wasn’t even thinking about it, you know, so he said that they were both trying to convince themselves that. That we didn’t see that. That was probably just like a wolf or something, you know, because it was, like, so weird. So when they get to town and it’s a local area, you know, I think I forget which.
They went to, like, some kind of local shop, and they’re asking the guy that worked there, and the guy’s like, oh, yeah, you saw the Ruger movie? He’s like, everybody around here have seen it. It’s. It’s just. It’s one of those things where it’s just like, all local. All locals know about it, you know, and it’s not that shocking of a thing. It’s like there’s something weird there and we know about it. You know, it’s like we just don’t really put a lot of emphasis on it or talk a lot about it. But he was like, yeah, you know, so.
And then he had a friend who saw something very similar. And I can’t remember what state she was in, but she was telling him her story. And he’s like, dude, I saw the exact same thing. And he said it was same story, word for word. And it was a friend of his, and he never told her that story before. So he’s like, you know, that there is something going on. So I wonder if we could find out what shop he went into, like what local shop he went into, and just go back there and start talking to people.
Yeah, I mean, that’s always the best thing, I think, with this stuff going to small towns like Point Pleasant. You know, the guy wrote that book about the Mothman prophecies. I mean, he spent, like weeks just at Point Pleasant talking to locals, you know, and at first, people were kind of hesitant to open up, and then they started opening up, and that’s where he started getting the most wild stories. And everyone’s stories was very similar to each other in the area. So I always feel like, John Keel. Yeah, that was it. Yeah, John Keel. That’s it.
Yeah, yeah, John Keel. Yeah. So, yeah, the Mothman prophecies. So definitely wild. This next one, I’ve never heard of this thing. Either. I don’t even know how to pronounce it correctly. So if you want to read this one, Rob, is it just Letici or Let Shea? Do you know where we are? Yeah, I’m looking for it. There. Okay. It’s L E T I C H E let itch. Lychee. Lychee is a fruit. Oh, yeah, The. The lechi. The lechi. Okay, I guess. Let itchy. Not sure, Never heard of it. Let itchy or the lechi. Latish. Lettiche.
Oh, latish. Sounds French. It’s French. Yeah. Okay, that makes sense. Spirits on of unbaptized infants raised by alligators. Capsized boats. Lure wanderers live in murky bayou depths. Native Cajun tales tied to child floaters and urban myths. That sounds almost Alaskan. Like some of the weird lore you get in Alaska. I mean, these are just like, you know, artists impressions of what they potentially could look like. But. But they’re essentially also, you know, and these things could be the same thing. Like this. Whatever. Letici or Letiche with the latish. Latish. I’m sorry? Latish with the bio creature.
Maybe these. Well, that was weird what happened there. Maybe these are like the same thing and, you know, different people are seeing them and they’re just giving them different names. Yeah, but. Yeah, then there’s this Fay Foley. The willow. The wisp. Yeah. Jordan and I did a whole thing on weirdest news in history about the willow. The wisps. Yeah. This is like fiery marsh gas orbs lead travelers astray into swamps. And it’s rooted in ancient folklore. Yeah. So this goes back hundreds of years, and especially in Europe, that’s where this actually came from. There’s so many bogs and marshes and stuff over in Europe.
And they would see these mostly blue. These, like, blue fiery orb things that would appear. And just recently, science came out, these scientists ex. Explaining that they think they figured out what it was. And they said they’re microscopic bubbles within, like methane gas that. That causes something, some kind of reaction, and then there’s a flame. And now all these mainstream articles are like, okay, we figured out the will of the wisp. It’s not, you know, paranormal. It’s just this is how to explain it. However, there’s a Russian guy that questioned it because he said the researchers used pure deionized water, while real swamp water is teeming with organic and inorganic compounds.
Among these compounds are salts called electrolytes, which could suppress charge separation between the gas bubbles. Therefore, he’s saying that it would be impossible for that to Happen naturally and in a controlled environment where they were using deionized water. Basically. Like, I’m almost. I mean, not quite like, the same as still, but kind of very similar, where he. He said, yeah, that could happen because then the water becomes charged, whereas, like, what’s there naturally is. It’s, like, so much in the water that it would be impossible for it to happen like that. So he’s not convinced that’s the actual theory.
But Lindsay was showing some photos of it, and it’s in all kinds of movies and folklore, especially, like, Native American and going all the way back into, you know, hundreds of years. And there’s all these old newspaper that were talking about it and everything else. People were seeing it and. And they said that there’s been a decline where it’s like, well, people don’t see these anymore. But I think it’s just. They’re not reporting them as much, I was gonna say. And people know not to report stuff because they get treated like crazy people. Yeah, exactly. I think that’s a main thing.
And some people have tried. We on the show, we were showing, like, people trying to capture it, you know, but they look kind of hard to tell because it’s at night and there’s just a flame, you know, but there’s some on these fields where these flames would happen in a field, and it’s like. It’s really hard to get out there and just light a fire, you know? Yeah, likely these are real. So it’s kind of wild, though. That whole thing is really wild. I didn’t really. I knew about them, but I didn’t really know that much about it.
And so I started looking deeper into it. It. And then we have the Glenwood Cemetery ghost. You can read this a little bit here if you want. Yeah. Apparitions of founder murdered 1870s and freed slaves EMF spikes, shadowy figures along Buffalo Bayou trails. Buffalo Bayou Edge Historic African American cemetery. So it sounds like haunted crossed with some weird cryptic activity or something. Yeah. So this is in that. This is that in the area of Texas here. And Lindsay, you can zoom in where he has kind of circled on a tree. If you click on the photo, it’ll be big and you can zoom in a lot more.
But the guy wrote, my daughter and I were taking photos at an old cemetery in Texas in that area when we caught this image. Didn’t notice until we were looking at the photos later. Yeah. What is that weird? Yeah. Funny thing. We zoomed in to try to see if we could. We caught any ghosts. We didn’t really think we did. We were joking around. And then he was like, they looked. They looked deeper into this photo, and he’s like, this definitely looks like a person behind the tree. There was nobody else in the cemetery that day.
Some people. This is an old cemetery, right? Yeah, yeah. And some people were saying, like, oh, that just looks like a hole in the tree. You know, could be. But still, either way, I don’t know. He was like. But he responded to those comments and said, that’s not the case. You know, that this thing wasn’t there when we were there. So the other thing, too are. So there’s something called demon Demons Road and hitchhiker ghosts. So Bowdoin Road, better known as the Demons Road, is a dirt road on the. On the way to Martha Chapel Cemetery near Sam Houston National Forest.
I don’t know where any of these places are. I don’t even. I’ve only been to Houston once, so anybody familiar with Houston might know this a little bit better. This road has supposedly been the location of eerie sightings of spooky red lights and the ghosts of young children and hitchhikers. Drivers of this treacherous path claim handprints have been left on windows of their cars. Some say ghosts have followed them all the way back to their homes. Yeah, that sounds like normal ghost activity right there. Mm. Yeah. So. And I guess I mean, outside of that, Houston is.
Is known to have very spooky places all along. Houston. Houston is a spooky place in general. Yeah. Found this article talking about all these interesting places, but there’s, like, the downtown tunnels. The leg goes that during the construction of the downtown tunnels, a group of 10 miners got trapped in a cave that sits below Houston’s business district. Unable to escape the rock and dirt that surrounds them, they perished underneath the feet of city dwellers. Some say that between the shadows, they can hear the miners even today, calling for help. That’s terrible. That is terrible. Buried alive.
Yeah. Yeah. People also say that the Houston Zoo is. Is haunted by the ghost of the first zookeeper, Hans Nagel, who is shot by police. Nagel was watching three teenagers he suspected of vandalizing the zoo when an officer came up asking what he was doing. The two got into an argument, and Nagel was shot after appearing to reach for his gun. Legend has it that his ghost still patrols the zoo today looking for vandalizers. Yeah, and then there’s the. That’s super, super wild. And there’s something called the rice, which is the. This complex was one of the last places John F.
Kennedy stayed before he was shot in Dallas. You know, so in 1963, the rebel. The building is reported to have JFK’s ghost haunting the ballroom and shaking doorknobs. Some guests even claim to have seen a ball of light roaming the corridors. I don’t know if that’s necessarily. Could. Yeah, I don’t know if that’s necessarily related to jfk, but either way, it does sound like there’s some kind of weird paranormal activity going on in that area or in this, that, that. I don’t, I don’t think it’s a hotel. I think it’s a. It’s just a. You know, you can, you can rent an apartment there, I guess, or probably purchase one.
Yeah, this next one you’re not going to be afraid of at all. It’s called the old spaghetti warehouse building. I would never be afraid of something called the old spaghetti warehouse building. But the former spaghetti warehouse space, now the home of McIntyre’s is reported to be one of the spookiest locations in the entire city. The lore goes back to the 20th century when a pharmacist fell down an elevator shaft and died, followed shortly thereafter by his wife who passed away of a broken heart. The two have been seen floating around the building making messes and bothering tourists, probably asking where all their spaghetti went.
Give me my spaghetti. Oh, that is wild. That is really wild. All right, well, let’s see. Ben, I think I was showing the wrong spaghetti warehouse because apparently there’s more than one. Oh, really? I wouldn’t be surprised about. Houston’s a big place. I think I was showing one in Columbus, Ohio, when there is. Was apparently one in Houston. Yeah, there is a big one called the sp. It’s actually called the spaghetti warehouse. Yeah, yeah, they have a really good spaghetti there. I haven’t been there in a long time, but it’s a giant. It’s just like a giant warehouse looking building, but inside it’s a restaurant.
It’s just got like a warehouse, like a huge ceilings inside and I, I think it’s still there. I’m pretty sure I haven’t been there in a long. But is the spaghetti served by a ghost, Ben? I don’t think it’s served by a ghost, but I wouldn’t doubt that. It’s probably not. Not gonna make my way there then. I’m sure for Halloween they would dress up as a ghost and you know, know delivery our food that way. All right, let. Let me. Before we move on to something else, I just want to take a minute and ask you, you know, of the cryptid things that, that were reported.
Those were very interesting to me. What do you, what do you think is going on? What do you think this cre. These creatures are, if anything? I, I think there’s definitely something going on. You know, there’s that Netflix show, the Paranormal Rangers and they’re in the Navajo Nation area and you know, they’re very much convinced that there are. I mean, they’ve been doing this for 30 years and responding to calls about strange paranormal things. Everything from Bigfoot, skinwalkers, to dog men to whatever, you know, you name it, ghost, weird, things like that. I definitely think there’s something going on on the paranormal side.
And Texas is, is, has such a old massive history all over Texas of all weird kind of paranormal events. I mean, you got the Thunderbird that, that was pretty much born out of Texas. You got weird prints that people are seeing, like footprints, but you know, the tripod thing with like three fingers, three toes, that looks like dinosaurs, except they’re recent tracks. Even kind of like dinosaur looking eggs have been found. Not to mention you have all these strange cryptids and, and even people that I know personally in, in Austin have strange experiences related to like skinwalker type of stuff, you know, so there’s a lot of people that I know that, that have even kind of have first hand encounters of this stuff.
So I do think this is real, you know, and, and then it’s like what could potentially be happening? I mean, you could have weird government experiments gone wrong or creatures escaping. But I think, I think in a lot of ways I actually think that it might be as simple as some weird. It’s like think of the Upside down in Stranger Things. Like almost like a portal opens up maybe intentionally or even unintentionally and just things are kind of coming through that portal and then it just kind of closes. So maybe these like, portals are almost like sporadically appearing for a brief time and then something’s just kind of coming through and then they’re just kind of trapped in our reality for a while until they’re, or maybe they’re doing it themselves.
Like these dogman creatures. You know, from what, what I hear and what I understand, they’re, they’re extremely intelligent and actually have some kind of supernormal capabilities that they’re very much aware of. So you know, that is something they might just be doing on their own. So maybe it’s like same place simultaneously, like just like the Upside down, where it’s like happening right here. It’s just in this other time space that they’re somehow able to access. And we hear that a lot with big things. Bigfoot as well. Like, bigfoot might, you know, it seems like they’re just possibly even traveling through time, which is crazy to think about.
But I’ve had a lot of very interesting conversations with some very intelligent people about this. And. And they. They think this could be the case with bigfoot as well. So it’s not so much that they are, you know, because it’s like, why do you see it? They become right behind a tree. All sudden, it just disappears, you know? And I think they’re not just opening portals. They might be actually time travelers, like, traveling from their time to our time. And I don’t know if that’s a future time or the past. I’m actually thinking it might be, like a greater past history.
And if you think about some of these places, Especially in texas, Where, I mean, those bayous existed for hundreds, maybe even a thousand years, you know, so it’s like, who knows what’s happening or what has happened in those areas? But what do you think, Rob? Oh, that was really interesting, what you said. And I don’t think a lot of people talk about bigfoot being a time traveler. They usually talk about him being an interdimensional traveler or something. But your take on it was super interesting. Very interesting theory. I think Texas is a really, really big place With a lot of open area.
I mean, I saw some data one time that said you could fit the entire world’s population in Texas. Texas is massive. I mean, it’s. It’s. It is one of our biggest states, but it’s also bigger than any country in Europe. I mean, bigger than France. France is their biggest country. Yeah, Texas is bigger than France. And then there’s not as many people in texas as there are in france. And France has a lot of open spaces. Imagine the open spaces in texas. So when you have a place that has a lot of open, unused space, 2, 800 miles of bayou of just like.
