Summary

➡ Jacob discusses the concept of free will, suggesting that while we may have some choices, ultimately, our paths are guided by a higher power. He uses examples from the Bible, like Jonah and Pharaoh, to illustrate that even when we think we’re making choices, we’re often being led towards a predetermined outcome. Jacob reassures us that this is good news, as it means we’re always on the path we’re meant to be on, and our main choice is how we react to our circumstances.
➡ This text discusses the concept of predestination, the belief that God has already determined our paths. It emphasizes that while we may face challenges, they are part of God’s plan and are meant to guide us towards our destiny. The text encourages us to trust in God’s plan, to follow our passions, and to act with love and faith, even in difficult times. It suggests that while we may not have control over everything that happens to us, we can choose how we react and trust that God is guiding us.
➡ This text emphasizes that God is in control of our lives and guides us, even if we think we’re making our own choices. It encourages us to live in harmony with God’s plan, finding peace and purpose in it. The author also asks for support for their video channel, either through financial contributions or by sharing and interacting with the content. Lastly, it highlights the power of imagination in shaping our future and urges us to focus on our end goals.

Hello my friends, Jacob’s here one more time. Thank you for pressing play, for spending a little quality time with me today. But did you have a choice? Do you have free will? This is something that I’ve been seeing a lot on social media. People are talking about how God gives you free will. God gives you free will. The idea in church is that if you choose the right path, you say the right words, you go to the right denomination, you go to the right religion, that your choice will get you there.

But Scripture may not agree. God may be a little bit more in charge than people think, and that’s good news. I mean, after all, what choice does a cell have but to divide? What choice did you have with the parents that you have, the neighborhood that you were grafted into? What choice did you have overall? You’re here now, but now we are told that we have this idea of choice. Even in government, it’s a choice. But what choice do we really have in life? It’s almost like, you know, you can see that whatever path you decide and you choose to go on, ultimately you end up back where maybe you didn’t think that you chose to go.

A lot of times, this is what happens, and a lot of people need to understand something very important, and that is the gospel, which is good news. And what would be the good news? The good news is you got nothing to worry about, ultimately, except for how you get there. Now, the Bible does tell you that we have choice to a certain extent, but not more so than God has, ultimately, for you. Really, the choice that we have is how we get to that place to begin with. Perfect example is Jonah.

God said you are going to go to Nineveh and you’re going to tell the people there that they got to repent, that you got to get your lives together, and Jonah was like, nope, I’m not doing it. I’m not doing it because I know you’re a merciful God, and I know you’re going to get them there anyway. What’s the point? What ends up happening? Well, he ends up in the belly of a great fish, and he suffers. In fact, he prays out of the belly of hell. He says, please release me.

Please release me. And what does he end up doing? Exactly what God said that he would. When I see people trying to tell me that people have a choice in the matter, I think about how few people really get to know even the Jesus Christ that we know, because there are other parts of the world, and there are some tribes somewhere that probably never heard it. Now, according to religious circles, if they didn’t make that choice, there’s a big problem. But I’m here to tell you the God that I serve, that I know, that I love, is a just God.

He’s also a God of love, and he finishes his creation in victory. So what I’m going to do today, and I hope that you’re ready for this, is I’m going to use scripture, believe it or not, the Bible. That’s what everybody says. That’s where you get all the answers from when you really should be going to God and asking for the truth, no matter what the cost, and just going to God and God will teach you and God will lead you. It’s by grace we are saved through faith, not of our works, lest we should boast.

Well, hang on a second. Isn’t there choice involved? There is, and yet there isn’t. Jesus had a profound understanding about whether or not he had free will. In fact, he said, I can do nothing of myself. I can only do what the Father wants me to do. I can only say what the Father wants me to say. He understood that God was in him, and that he was in God, and that it was already written, as if it was coded, as if it’s like a DVD. The movie’s already there. You have no choice but to get to the end.

In the end, my friends, is good news. After all, what choice did Pharaoh have in the Bible? Did he have free will? When Moses came to him, set my people free, he said, but God, according to Scripture, hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he wouldn’t set him free. The reason was he wanted to show God’s power. He wanted to show God’s power to those in Egypt. He wanted to show God’s power to those in Israel. It didn’t matter what they chose. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. He couldn’t let them go free unless God allowed him.

In fact, the Scriptures say that no one can come to the Father unless the Father draws him first. That’s in the Bible. That means you can’t go to a church service and go to God by your own volition and your own choice unless God first drew you. Now, people are going to have a problem swallowing that. It’s going to become an ego thing, right? Because we want to be in charge. We want to be in control. We want to believe that we have free will. And to a certain point, we do. But not the way most think.

Now, there are a bunch of Scriptures that back this up. So before you go and say, Oh, I’m sorry, Jacob. You’re so wrong. God is not in control. God is not in charge. I’m in charge. I’m in control. I make the choice. I have the free will. It’s not like all of these things in our lives that are pushing us in one direction or another. How many people want to have a job and they can’t get a job? How many people, you don’t hate their job, but they can’t leave their job? How many people just want to get in great shape, but then they get sick? How many people think that they want to have a big family, but they can’t even have kids? You see, everything in life happens for a reason, ultimately getting us to where we need to go.

That’s the good news. That means that there will be choices along the way to make, but blessed is he that says, not my will Lord, but thine. This is the point. This is why the idea of having free will ultimately is dangerous because that means that you can somehow thwart the will of God. But the Bible says very clearly that what God wills will be and guess what God wants and God wills. God wills that all be saved. You think about that and you start to say, Oh, well, that’s, that’s good news if that’s true.

But, you know, the church is telling me different. That’s why when I talk to people, I don’t get upset when they have different views. I don’t get upset when I hear someone’s like, Oh, I don’t believe in the Christianity thing, or I don’t believe in this because I’m, I’m a guru over here or I’m a member of that society over there. Or I’m a, I’m a Buddhist, or I’m a, I’m in Islam, or I’m Jew, or I don’t worry about these people. I don’t worry about them. There was a time when I did, there was a time when I thought I needed to go to the mall and, you know, carry a cross around and tell people otherwise they were going to burn endlessly.

The good news is when you find out the truth of God and you find out that right now, even though things are hard for you, that you are in fact exactly in the will of God. And the only thing that you have choice over is how you react to it. I actually just put something on X from 1 Corinthians chapter 3. If something is built and it stands, well, there’s a reward for those who build it. But if the fire destroys it, the person will still be saved. How be it through fire. You get it? You’re going to go to Nivah one way or another.

It’s like if you build a good life based on love and truth and values and you do the right thing in life, well, guess what? You’re going to have a reward. If you don’t, guess what? It’s going to suck because you’re going to be dragged through the mud. You’re going to be, it’s going to be not good for you. It probably wasn’t good for a lot of people that decided to go the other way, decided to not go the way Christ told them to go. And what ends up happening? The storms come.

There’s a lot of scriptures that back this philosophy up. I’m just going to read you some of them, okay? Just so you get an idea. Because this is not to say that you’re like an automaton robot where you are going to be, and it’s going to be revealed to you. You don’t even know who you are right now because we see through a glass darkly. It’s like we kind of have an idea of what’s coming for us, but we don’t really know for a fact. But it’s not going to be compared to the glory that’s coming when the manifestation of the children of God is a thing.

We are God’s children. Do you think God is going to fail us? No. He’s going to accomplish what he put his word into the word world to do. That’s why faith plays a big role. Romans 8, for those God foreknew, he predestined to be conformed to the image of his son. It’s predestined. It’s predetermined. Ephesians 1, 4, and 5, for he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for that adoption. Predestination has nothing to do with your choice, my friends.

This is good news, even if you don’t believe in God right now, even if you’re like, okay, the man in the sky, right? And I’m thinking, no, it’s the spirit that is in all and through all that’s in you right there. One, we’re an image of that. We’re supposed to be a manifestation of God. When you see me, you should be able to see Christ in me because that’s the hope of glory. No one came to the Father unless he is drawn by the Father. That’s in John. John 15, you did not choose me.

I chose you. Acts 1348, when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored, the Word of God, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed. Those that are appointed, they get there. This is where you have the whole idea of predestination. You’ve probably heard of Calvinism. There’s some people that believe that, but it’s kind of flawed because the idea is somehow that, you know, the ones that God chose for good things are good, but the ones God decides to just torture endlessly, the children that, you know, he just decides as to the way it’s going to be.

It’s not the way it’s going to be. According to Revelation, hell is destroyed in the lake of fire, the haven of fire, and Christ is a consuming fire. Hell, the power of death and sin, the wages of sin is death. Hell, that hellish, soulish nature, it’s going to be destroyed. How? By the fire. That’s in 1 Corinthians. If what is built survives, the builder receives a reward. If it burns, then the person who built it, regardless of if it survives or not, will be saved, but through fire. That’s the testing of our faith.

That’s the mountain of problems that are coming at us, left, right, and sideways. Curve balls is going to be a thing. You watch, curve balls, the curve balls that you don’t expect, the ones that take a little bit longer to get to you, but they mess you up knowing that God’s in charge, knowing that you really don’t have a choice but to get to where you’re supposed to go. That’s why it’s better not to kick against the pricks. When you see life moving you in a direction, don’t fight it so hard. Turn and surf and, you know, learn to lean into the wind as it moves.

Be like that branch that sways, not the one that’s stubborn and is going to break in two. Proverbs 16.9, In the hearts humans plan their course, like man thinks he knows the way and he makes the plans, but God establishes their steps. Biblically, there is no free will. Proverbs 19.21, many are the plans of a person’s heart, but the Lord establishes the purpose that prevails. You know that passage where like every God gives you the desires of your heart and everybody’s like, Oh, it’s a Ferrari. Oh, it’s a new house. Oh, it’s a vacation.

Oh, it’s that perfect boyfriend or that perfect girlfriend. God gives you the desires of your heart. That’s not it. The desire of your heart to do God’s will in the world. God gives you those desires. And if he gives them to you, if you have a desire to like, I don’t know, be a carpenter, God gave you that desire and it’s a gift that’s without repentance. Follow after what you love, whatever God places in you, don’t think that you can’t make it. You can’t help but make it. And it’s only going to be harder if you don’t go to what drives your peace.

Philippians 2 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill God’s good purpose. And what’s God’s purpose? To save us, to have us be born again in Christ. 2 Timothy 1 9 he saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of anything that we’ve done, but because of his own purpose. Once again, it’s not anything that we’re doing. Now, why, why Jacob, are you spending so much time trying to make me feel like I have no control over my life? No, you have control, but you’ve been created in the image of God to be a chosen vessel of God and that’s what’s going to happen.

One way or another, you’re going to get there. It’s just a lot easier to know that God’s in control and you can’t fail so long as you are doing the right thing. How do we know what the right thing is? This is the guide. This is the gauge. Love. If you could love others, you’re doing good. Okay? If you can have faith in the midst of the storm and know that God’s going to get you through even though it may suck, you know, you may not need to live there anymore. You may need to move.

You see, we don’t know why these things happen, but the scriptures are very clear that God decides what’s going to go on with your life. Joshua 11 20 for it is the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel. How can you say that God would do that? Well, because Israel was supposed to be worshiping God. Israel started worshiping false gods, right? They started worshiping the gods of this world, sort of going lusting after the pride of life and the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, sort of, you know, wanting to be part of, you know, the, the, the celebrity culture and all that stuff, which we see being revealed to be not so great.

They’re not going the right way. What’s going to happen? God’s going to raise an army to get them to remember when you’re not trusting in God, when you’re not seeking God, when you’re not doing your best for God, if you know, God’s going to slap you upside the head, like he slapped me upside the head in that terrible accident where I have this nonstop reminder. Tinnitus, I have this nonstop reminder that I’m a slave. I’m a slave to Christ. The scriptures say that he’ll pierce the ear of his servant. Like if I say, I want to be a slave to you, Lord, right? If someone, a slave has been set free, if I want to serve you, Lord, he’ll pierce the ear of the servant.

And I want to, I didn’t accept, expect that it was going to be probably like a literal thing where I’m nonstop hearing this as I’m speaking right now. It’s very distracting and it’s, a torment of sorts, but it’s a constant reminder that I got no control over things. All we were doing was turning and that’s all we were doing. Didn’t do nothing wrong. Boom. And what changed? My heart changed. I’m not walking the same again. Happened to Jacob Israel before me. Same thing. After that dark night of wrestling, boom, you walk away, you change, man.

He gave me an injury that cannot heal, just like he did with Jacob back of old. Do we have a choice in the things that happened to us? Do you have a choice if the lightning strikes your car? Well, you’re probably lucky because you’re in the car and it’s got the rubber on the road, but did you have a choice in the deer to jump out and crash into my soul? The key is soul. So what happened? I had like one thing after another. We had a tree come down in our yard.

Did I have a choice in that? I’m thanking God for all that the tree didn’t hit the house. The car didn’t go off the road. Shiloh’s okay. You look at these things. Do you have a choice? No, there is no free will except for choosing our reaction to it. God knows the end from the beginning. He wrote it. This is the, this is the facts. Okay. All we can do is choose these. Now these are examples of choice in scripture, but you can see it a little bit differently understanding that if you choose wrong, you’re going to have an army coming against you until you choose right.

Now, remember Jesus said very clearly, he goes, my food is to do the will of him who sent me. That’s his job. My job is to do the will of God. I got no other choice but to do it. That’s our job too. And what is that stuck to love? That peace that have to trust that God is with you. No matter what, that greater is he that is in me than he that is of the world. Choice. Do you have free will? Sure. And how you react to things? Revelation 3 19, those whom God loves, he rebukes.

God’s going to chase in you if you’re not a listener. The idea that you did something so great because you went to your church and you said Jesus is Lord and God bless you. You know, I wouldn’t know salvation if it wasn’t for Jesus, right? God bless you for it, but you didn’t do it. God brought you to it. Don’t think that you did anything more special than someone that’s never even stepped foot into a Christian church, but watches this video just like you’re watching this video and has been for years.

God’s in charge of it all. The reason you’re watching right now, do you had a choice to watch or not? But God brought you, drew you in just like God draws me to this or to that. This is the way we should be living our life. This is the way we should be looking at things. You know, it’ll help a lot more. And the sooner we decide to get into the stream of what the kingdom of heaven is doing, righteousness, peace and joy, power in the Holy Spirit, the sooner we will know that peace that is beyond understanding.

We have a purpose within us, people within us. Enjoy it where you are right now. Enjoy it. Get in the flow. God has you here for a reason. So do me a favor. Share the video around. Will you? Will you? Will you do me a favor? Will you hit the like button? Will you leave me a comment? Will you get some of the merch? You go into the description of the video. A majority of my existence is because of you. Channel members, it’s like five bucks. You stand out in all the live stuff and you get access first if you want to support the channel that way.

Super thanks. I always say thank you. I get to see it all the time. Patreon, we’re getting together for another Zoom in two weeks or three weeks. This is like a beautiful thing. If you want to support there, you can also join up but you don’t have to send money. The best thing you can do really is to learn from this and to share it with others. Hit the subscribe button. Make sure that the bell is checked for notifications so you don’t forget. Tell your friends about the channel. Leave a comment.

Leave a like. We are at the behest of algorithms and the more people that interact with videos like this, the more the algorithm thinks, hey, more people would like this. A lot of people, I believe, need to know that God’s in control, you know, and that ultimately we’re forgiven. How are we forgiven? Well, because Christ died for us before the foundation of the world. It’s already done. It’s already written. It’s already finished. We can’t mess this up. That’s the gospel. That’s the good news. So you tell me if you think free will is a thing, ultimately, in the comment section.

And thank you for all you do. I love each and every one of you, and I’ll talk to you soon. Bye-bye. Oh, you know, imagination is the ground where your future grows. Imagination is the key you see. If you’d only believe you’d receive what waits behind the door of infinite possibility. There is a desire in your heart. From this desire you must never part. See the end from the beginning. Picture it all in your mind. Worry about how you’ll get there. Only see the end. Result regardless of time. [tr:trw].
