Interestingly, these fires tore through the same area where Hurricane Helene hit. That region is known to have major lithium deposits, and as we’ve seen in other cases, lithium mining usually causes heavy deforestation. Large areas of forest are often cleared to access the resources beneath, and in this case, the outcome seems a little too convenient; they didn’t need to cut the trees down. The fires did the job for them.
In Polk County, North Carolina, three wildfires are burning through the same area that was devastated by Hurricane Helene about six months ago. Firefighters are struggling with rough terrain and leftover storm debris, making containment difficult.
The Black Cove Fire started last Wednesday and has burned over 2,000 acres. As of Sunday afternoon, it remained at zero percent containment. Fire officials say it was caused by a downed power line.
The Deep Woods Fire is even larger, covering 1,802 acres, and it’s also at zero percent containment. Evacuation orders have been issued for several areas surrounding both the Black Cove and Deep Woods fires.
Residents near the Henderson County line, especially around Laurel Mountain View Road and Boulder View Road, received voluntary evacuation notices from emergency management officials on Sunday.
Another fire, called the Fish Hook Fire, has burned 199 acres and is currently 50 percent contained. At least six structures have been destroyed.
On Saturday, Polk County received a red air quality alert, and the North Carolina Forest Service advised residents to avoid going outside for long periods. A statewide burn ban is also in effect.
Meanwhile, in Greenville, South Carolina, the National Guard deployed an air crew to assist with the Persimmon Ridge Fire, which erupted Sunday morning and has already spread to around 100 acres. The cause of that fire has not yet been reported.
And notice the title from the news: “Three wildfires burn more than 3,300 acres in North and South Carolina.” There’s that number 33 again, often seen in these orchestrated events, tying back to the highest Freemasonic levels.
